My husband and I keep our finances seperate till the kids are out of the house, this is so when we move and buy a house together we can combine our finances it just makes things easier at the moment. We are currently living in his house of which I pay half the mortgage (I see it as rent till the house is sold), and all the food, paper products etc... he pays the utilities, it is fairly equal. I have recently discovered that part of what I am paying for is also a piece of property that is in his and his ex's name. It was added on to the mortgage($600.00) when they refinanced to pay for the property. I do not think I should be paying for the property just the house we live in, he does not agree. I said if something happened to him she would get the property not me...and when they are both gone it is going to their 3 kids. He said it shouldn't matter it is part of the mortgage, I said then his ex should be paying half ($300.00) of the property not me or my name should be added since she hasn't paid on it in 5 years and it was purchased 6 years ago. I need some help with this, I think I am right !!!
