Kirkster, You are welcomed to disagree, but if I am a 16/17 year old teenager I will want some privacy, especially if I am paying for the phone.

You may govern your children as you see fit, Lavender was asking for advice.

My own personal experience is the more my parents respected me the more I opened up to them.

the more they tried to control me the more I rebelled.

I think Lavender has a good handle on the situation, she obviously has dealt with this before and was just looking for some reassurance.

teenagers are a tough breed, ruling with a iron fist is not always the best solution, each situation is different and you must walk a fine line.
