You probably have a point with the thinking out loud. I have to publish my learnings at work in several formats. I notice that even after it's been through peer review and technical editors, my articles tend to be a little longer, and contain many more details, examples and repros than most of my peers. There are a few others who are as long as I am. It definitely seems to be part of my personality ... I'm not lying when I say I don't talk as much as I write, though.
