He put divorce on the table in hopes that it would cause me to change my mind about him. Instead, I was relieved that I could leave the marriage with a clear conscience because technically, he filed for the divorce. The problem wIth it was that heavy guilt set in later. Not regret about the divorce, but guilt about the pain my ex went through. She may be hoping you will pull the plug.
