Don't walk away yet. Try some counseling. However, my nine year old son is still tucked in every night. He would consider it punishment if I didn't. My husband and I put our children down at a reasonable time so that we can have time together in the evenings. I'll tuck my son in until he asks me not to. He's tough as nails as an athlete, but he still loves hugs and kisses from mom and dad! We've always read to our children at bedtime every night, said prayers with them and tucked them in. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Frankly, I get sappy each time they have a birthday. How can you look at those sweet little faces in the window and not wave??!! That time is fleeting. Cherish it.
