Hey everyone! Didn't really know where to post this but this seems a good a place as any.
I'm getting married in few weeks and I'm trying to finish up my speech and I'd like some opinions on whether or not this one part is funny or not and if you think it will come off well.
I'm the groom and this is one PART of what I will be saying to my Bride:
I’ve never been the best with words of sentiment but I really felt as though if there was ever a time for some nice words it was at a time like now. So I did what any man in my position would do. I went on my computer, typed “wedding poems” into google clicked on the first link that came up and printed it off...
Here it is... This is the first time I’ve read it so lets keep our fingers crossed: (I pull piece of paper with poem on it from my pocket)
The title is: ”Peaceful Love” Sounds like a good one to me...
There is peace in my soul
For such a long awaited time
There is love in my life
A love of melody and rhyme.
Once you took hold of my heart
I knew no other could have reached
As whispered fate took my hand
To levels only you could reach.
You in my life
Will live eternally
I thought that I could love no other
Until, that is, I met your brother. (hesitate saying this line as if I've read it for the first time)
Well that started off good....lets just forget the last two lines.... No offence John. (Brides Brother)
