Re: Funny or interesting stories about your kids to share?
what i find with my children, the funniest moments are the least expected moments.
when there are serious moments in the house and your child comes out with something that can completely throw you of course to make you laugh.
i like them the best.

I have one. My daughter, who loves Charlotte's Web, decided to pay me a compliment one day after going to see the Dakota Fanning version of the movie in the theater. She said, " Oh Mommy, you're so pretty. You're as pretty as a pig!!" And she meant with all sincerity!

Re: Funny or interesting stories about your kids to share?
When my son was 2 he had a blue plastic rocking horse and he liked to stand on it and try to balance and I would say "Wow, you are a dare-devil!"
There was a man in our church chior who was really tall. Even standing in the back row he was over a head taller than the other men. They were off to the side of the alter and they had folding chairs set up to sit in when they weren't singing.
One Sunday while they were singing, my son noticed him and assumed he was standing on a chair because he was so tall. So, he pointed towards him (and the alter) and started shouting "Mommy, Devil! Devil!" He meant "dare-devil" because he thought the man was standing on a chair. I must have been beet red because people started looking over to see what he was talking about!

ok a laugh from today, my youngest who is 8, is the grumpiest of my sons . this morning waking him up as usual. he stormed through the front room with a jumper over his head saying he was tired.
i said were all tired - his answer to me as im on my way to take them to school and then to work,
"yeh , but you get paid to get up", with the assumption why isnt he paid to get up.

My kids say stuff like that sometimes too. I just tell them when they're ready to do all the laundry, grocery shopping, paying bills, holding down a job,etc then they'll find out. They usually ponder it for a moment and then the room becomes so silent, you could hear a pin drop!
BTW, my son's just a little older than yours and that sounds just like something he would say!!

Funny kids we have This thread reminds me of when Candid Camera used to interview kids and get them to say the funniest things.
Okay, here's one from my daughter who is blonde like me
We were in a museum in LA and I went over to look at the map...she pointed to the 'X' that said 'You are here' and exclaimed (while looking around for the secret cameras) 'How do they know?'!
Re: Funny or interesting stories about your kids to share?
When my precocious son was about 4 he asked me what I did at work. So I started to tell him about computers, writing complicated stuff and so on. I could see him staring intently at me, clearly engrossed in what i was telling him. His eyes focused on my own eyes.
Then finally he spoke up and said, "Dad, can I ask you something?"
i say, "Sure, what do you want to know?" I'm thinking he is fascinated at what i do for a living, wants to learn about his dad's career.
So them my son asks, "Why do you have gold specs in your eyes?"
He hadn't really heard a word I said. But i did learn that day that I talk to much and he has good powers of observation.

My 9 year old daughter made me a "father's day" cake I was upstairs, she called me down, when she was all done...I just had to take a picture of it after I stopped laughing.

If a picture is worth 1000 words, I wonder what this one is worth!! Thanks for sharing! That makes me think about my little girl holding up her middle finger to show our neighbor her splinter. My daughter didn't know what the gesture meant and the neighbor didn't see the splinter. You can imagine the confusion and the laugh that followed!

Got another one for you. This is a young child's political take on illegal immigration. "Mommy, I think people sneak to live here because it's too hot where they live and I think they like our chocolate doughnuts!"

My baby daughter is continually discovering new things on a day-to-day basis. The other week she discovered how to make this snarling sound and it is so cute. Now she does it all the time because she knows that it will make us all start laughing, it's pretty funny.
