Nope, don't post those. Mods have taken down memes like those when they see them. This is not a new rule. The only reason that some of those meme are still there is that a mod did not see them....

Effed – NOT allowed, it’s a bypass
F’d – NOT allowed, it’s a bypass

Frigging – allowed, it’s a word in the English dictionary and it is not filtered

Freaking – allowed, it’s a word in the English dictionary and it is not filtered

I personally would do not see a problem with

On the way down without a c@cktail in sight, some of us were allowed to have a look inside the c@ckpit. Once the flight was over and we stepped off the ramp, I told my troops to go to "action", which saw all of them **** their weapons, as a few c@ckatoos flew by.

Why? Because in those c@ck is only syllable in the word and the word does not have any relation to the definition of c@ck that is the purpose of the ban.

**** their weapons - Here I would also probably not care because the meaning again, has not relation to the definition of c@ck, a body part, that is the purpose of the ban. Another mod might not agree with me.

half-c@cked is another. The definition is based on old firearms, not body parts.

Anyway thanks for communicating the new rule. I was not aware of it and I am frequently guilty of creative spelling, and not just from being a bad speller.
I agree. And note that all of the words you listed are not filtered. They have always been acceptable on TAM.

Now allowed, or not allowed?

Is it deliberate to censor it as part of another word? Why not require an an exact match, {c@ck}?

Sigh, my wife gives me the speaking treatment.

C'mon Aldi, why'd ya have to bring it up, was hoping to sneak it under the radar

Separately, I think it is silly to filter curse words yet have lengthy discussions about vibrators, orgasms, penises, vaginas, herpes, dildos, strap ons, crotchless panties, assless chaps, anal sex, buttplugs, blondilocks, trouser monster, pornography, threesomes, foursomes, dirty sanchez, masturbating, warts, women with abnormally large hands (i.e. man hands), handcuffs, whips, chains, breasts, nipples, pubic hair, arbitrator, facial, fallopian tube, feminism, swamp ass, scrotum, cleveland steamer, personal "massager", etc ....

But I get it, rules are rules ...

To everyone on TAM - new policy

I will just switch to non English words. As long as I don't use creative spelling it is not against forum rules. It then becomes the responsibility of the filter admin to keep up.

I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I like abide by the rules and the law!

I can't see why a picture of cute animals swearing or something else like that is offensive, maybe the animals started a campaign? Oh those pesky little cats and dogs!

Holy hell, how did the warning miss ME?? I just saw this and know for a fact I posted violations yesterday. A **** ton of them.

I also didn't know ass and damn were ok. At some point I am pretty sure they weren't.

So, what about that cheating site whose name is two words that start with A and M? ****** *******. I see that's still blocked out. I have always thought that was the stupidest thing in the world to block but whatever.

Not sure why this is an issue. I don't tend to swear often in everyday conversation, so this is no big deal for me.

Re: To everyone on TAM - new policy

Personally I think its ridiculous that profanity is forbidden on an adult only forum. People who get "offended" by it need to learn to suck it up, buttercup, welcome to the real world. Using it to bash someone is wrong of course, but in the normal course of conversation and expression, I dont like being parented. Its probably my primary gripe about this site, not enough to keep me away obviously! Almost 5 years now!

Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.

Well **** **** **** **** me......... I'll abide by the rules. Though I think we are all old enough to handle profanities. I agree about not bashing others but sometimes colorful words really drive a person's point home!

Cheers.

Yea, you need to go fix your posts and follow the rules. It's simple.

ETA: I mean from here on out.

And just to clarify, on a privately owned board, there is, in fact, no such thing as free speech.

I have never read the software. But from looking at how it work, the symptoms, it looks like it just looks for a string of letters. If it finds the letters is a string then it replaces each of them with a "*". Most of the profanity filters I have seen ask the forum admin to enter the words that they want to block. So the filter does not have built in special cases since the software writer does not know what the admin will want blocked.

The filter is clearly some pretty simple code.
