Individual counseling.

OP my mother was pretty much like you. Raised without a father in the picture, he died when she was very young. She also ended pick men who didn't treat her well. My father cheated and my stepfather was verbally abusive. This was a direct result of having no sense of men. Her picker was broken. I asked because I was sure that would be the case for you.

How are your kids handling the abuse? It was extremely hard on me and made me have to leave home early.

Look here is the deal, you are going to continue in this situation until you deal with the missing father thing. This man you are with doesn't sound like a good man. I would never treat anyone like that let alone my wife. That is not the way a decent strong man behaves, its exactly the way a weak man does though. As a man I can't tell you how I feel about men like your husband. I can't tell you because the man is still your husband and it wouldn't be right. I will just say it's not good. My job is to protect my wife, that means emotionally too. That protection is my honor and part of what makes me a man.

Here is the other thing though, a strong man isn't going to be attracted to you as you are now because you are broken. You are broken because you are willing to put up with such abuse. YOU need to fix you.

Your so right, my kids seem fine but who really know? I'm going to seek counseling.
Asap.
