Took the wife out Friday night. Had a plan and did not tell her what it was. It was very simple though. Dinner, movie, and dancing.
As expected not all went to plan. Dinner didn't happen because it took us too long to drop the kids off. Movie went great. I pulled up to the theatre and told her she could pick which movie she wanted. Thankfully, she picked the one I wanted. We ate popcorn and cuddled the whole time. After the movie, she asked where we going next? I said I'm taking you dancing. She said no. She wasn't wearing decent clothes for that, and there was no way she could have danced in those shoes.

So we went home and watched a cheesy movie on TV in bed. This led to a massage for her which led to some of the best sex we have had in years.

I think that's great that even though the date didn't go as planned, you went with the flow & enjoyed the evening...and I'm sure she was pleased that you put the effort into planning a nice even though it didn't go exactly as planned.
