Default Bathtubs & Ferrets

Ok I don`t air a lot of my problems on this board but something incredibly trivial just happened and it kinda pissed me off.

I`ve been married to my wife for 13 years.

She bathes every day never showers and NEVER EVER drains the ****ing bath tub when she`s done.

This is irritating because I then have to wait for it to drain to take a shower sometimes making me late for wherever I`m going.

I have mentioned it nicely a few times in the past but she never drains it anyway.

Now this is not a big deal so I just wrote it off as one of those little irritations one has to deal with living with someone else.

Now, a few days ago we got a new ferret.
He`s very cool and a rescue ferret so he`s already grown and quite big.

He has a penchant for the bathtub stopper (This is the second weasel I`ve had who has a rubber fetish) and he`s big enough to get the stopper off the edge of the tub himself and take it.

My wife kinda freaked out because he`s obviously big enough to get in the bathtub so she just informed me she`ll have to make sure she drains the bath tub from now on so he doesn`t get stuck in there when we`re gone and drown.

So would it bug anyone else that she`ll immediately change her ways for this goddamned little weasel but utterly not give a **** about her husbands wishes?

WTF??

Maybe it`s because it`s not life or death for me but is for the ferret.
I dunno, still bugs me.

It would irk me, too!

But - problem solved? Right?

Congrats on the Weaz. I love 'em but I'm not "allowed" to own one lol

It would bug the everloving crap out of me. SMH. So much respect for a pet, not your spouse.

I can't imagine not draining the bathtub! Guess it's like lowering the toilet seat...so simple yet people just don't get in the habit.

Tell her how you feel! And be happy the problem will be fixed. Yea for the ferret! Give him a treat. LOL

Pat on the back for rescuing an animal. More people should do it. Animals bring a lot of joy to our lives...even though they are a lot of work.

I can understand & appreciate how you feel. Yes, the habit would bother me. But her changing it for the sake of the ferret...no so much. I think you are reading too much into her thought process. She's been doing to you for 13 years - old hat, nothing new, you didn't leave her over it.

The ferret is new, she is making an adjustment to something new. Your complaints weren't new, so they didn't warrant a change.

Hmm, me thinks you should have got a weasel earlier.

Yup, the ferret's life won over irritating the hubby & making him put his hands in the gross gunky cold water to drain it.

either that, or she's afraid the ferret will run off with her stopper someday & she won't be able to take her bath.

Question though: Why is your wife so gosh darn scared of taking a shower? I know if I have to shave my legs, I can't do it standing up in shower anymore, but, really ?? to NEVER take a shower is some weird phobia or bath fetish.

Yeah that would bug me too... old cold bath water is never nice to deal with...worse when it's someone else water.
One of my sons leaves his water in too... I make him come back and deal with it and the bath ring every time he does it.

Why does she not drain the tub...does she have trouble getting the plug out or ???

Is there another shower in the house you could use?

I can see her thought process, though. YOU are not going to actually drown in the bathtub, whereas the ferret could. But she still should have changed the habit before, for you.

People are weird.

I'm sorry, but this was really really - as I was reading, I was expecting the weasel to be floating upside down....then I got to this >>>

WTF??
....and lost it - had to catch my breath.

Hope1964 is right - some people are just wacked. It takes a possible Death - to change their ways. Well at least the big weasel playing with the rubber is gettin' the result you wanted, no more hands in cold gunky water hours later. That is the strangest lazy habit I think I've ever heard.

Tell the wife off one last time - then Praise the Weasel !
