Just out of curiosity; does anyone else ever walk around your house looking at items and thinking about who would get what if you got divorced? Whether or not you did get divorced, or just thought about the idea of it. I know I calculate in my head sometimes who would get which furniture, dishes, pictures, etc. I don't do it all the time, more depends on my mood, kind of like tonight, when I am highly irritated.
Then I also wonder how much she would care and be concerned with certain types of items. I don't know.
I can't say I walk around my house thinking about these things, no. But there are plenty of times when we happen to be talking about an item or buying something expensive and I'll consider this and/or mention it, such as when we bought our car and "his" big screen TV and I said something to the effect of "If we ever split up, you're taking that monstrosity and I'll keep the computers."
No..I don't split the possessions while I view them...
But i think you should take it as a sign that you either need couples counseling, or that you are seriously thinking about splitting up. Your mind is already drifting there.
Oh, I know I have been thinking about splitting up. That is why I look at the possessions and think about who will get what.
I just wonder what that process would actually be like in the end.
