I celebrated my birthday recently. I was out of town and by lunch time, I had not heard from my wife. Most of the time when it is someone's birthday, she calls them and our children will sing happy birthday. I did not get this or any other call. To make sure everything was ok at home, I called her around lunch time. She answered hello, then said happy birthday as if she had forgotten. I got no email or other calls the remainder of the day.

I don't know what's going on with this. Is it right to be concerned for the attention others get on their birthday? My entire day was ruined, and I am still upset.

Sounds like you should just tell her how you feel. Is there a reason you're afraid to do that?
