What should a 47 year old woman wear?

Fig Leafs? No wait......over there they wear leis (sp), right? I'm sure hubs would be ok with that! Lol! JK

I agree with those advising you to wear what you're comfortable in. What about making a trip to the local mall? Maybe something there may catch your eye while window shopping?

I'm a Goodwill, Consignment/Thrift store kinda gal. What I like best about buying at these places: it still fits after you wash it; no shrinkage, etc. Lol!! Well, I do buy lingerie, panties, & bras new; matter of fact, I have to travel to the Harley store tomorrow to pick up a part my H bought for his bike and it just so happens I have to pass the mall to get there. Hubs gave me free reign since I'm running the errand for him. Come to think of it, the only store he specifically mentioned was VS. Should I take that as a hint?

I bought one of those skirts/dresses you tie. It matched my swimsuit. We wore our swimsuits mostly.

Dean's right. Even at Luau's no one dresses up too nicely. We wore out shirts and shorts at night. We rarely went out at night anyways. It was nice to hear the ocean right out our door.

Whatever you do...don't wear shorts...shorts should be against the law (in most cases). A wave of summer weather here in YUL has proven it yet again! Shorts are yucky!

The red beach dress is so cute! Wrap skirts are super cute - and sometimes you can get ones made just for traveling that are reversible, so you can get two looks w/o packing 2 skirts. Do you sew? Basic skirts are so easy to make; just get some great summery print. Definitely a 'NO' on the saran wrap.

Don't forget a hat to protect you from the sun! (Can ya tell I'm a mom?)

And, you're going on vacation -- wear things that you feel comfortable in. Otherwise, it won't be much of a vacation.

ETA: And I'm a 47-year-old woman, too!

Why not hit the mall and check out how the manikins are dressed. That might give you some ideas on how to match things. I like to buy things I can mix and match, different colors, a variety of patterns and textures, etc. Some major stores like Belks and Kohl's have sales all the time and coupons!

You'd be surprised at how little you can actually spend on NEW clothes instead of Goodwill. I know, because I use to get the majority of my clothes at Goodwill, too, but now the stores offer such good deals; you just have to seek them out.
