Ladies, I'd like to ask a question. Just something light. I have never been one to wear men's cologne. Recently I've been trying to impress my wife a bit with my looks, dress and affections to her. We have this secret romance thing going on. Dating nights and meeting during work kinda stuff.
I'm a little behind the times, I just tossed my English Leather and Old Spice ( I never used them, they pretty much stunk). They were more than 30 years old, ha-ha.
I'd like to know if you like it on a man and if so which one is preferred?
My fave is JOOP. When Hubs wears that I have to get into his pants. RGHT THEN AND THERE lol. I used to wear it myself in HS. I remember smelling it at Macy's and just had to have it, even though it was a man's cologne. Soooo yummy to me.
He wears Joven to work everyday though.
Cologne is weird though. You have to actually get one that smells good ON YOU. Go try some out. Everyone's body acts different to the same cologne. What smells good on one man may stink on you.
As a guy, I try to go for something that is not strong smelling. Can't stand other guys who seem to bathe in this stuff. I work around a lot of new contacts. For some reason, there is one that I use where hardly a week goes by without someone asking what it is (as a compliment). My wife loves it. Its Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir.
Take her with you to a department store and let her smell them on you and pick one out. I always let my wife pick out my cologne - what do I care what I smell like? She's the one I'm trying to impress - if she likes it it's all good.
Literal translation in French as "for men of the evening."
Sorry.
Meaning a scent intended for evening wear rather than a daytime cologne. But if it works it's all good.
Now I'm blushing! I knew it was intended to be an evening cologne, which might fit the OP, but it suits the nature of my work atmosphere, also, since we are warned against using some of the brands mentioned here. I tend to be allergic to day colognes with higher levels of ethyl acetate.
Two of my favorites are Aqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani and Fierce by Abercrombie and Fitch....mmmmmm. Makes me want to tear his clothes off and do him on the spot.
Aqua di Gio, Joop, and Lagerfeld are my standards. Had one a few years back that I particularly liked called JHL by Estee Lauder but I can't seem to find it anymore. And yes, using less is much more!

I hear ya sister. I feel the same way when my husband wears Drakkar Noir around me.
