Default Is it finally over?

My California divorce was supposed to be final last month I believe, but I haven't gotten any confirmation letter or anything indicating it's actually over. All I found online was the case number and date filed, nothing else.

I'm not about to ask my ex wife and could really care less if it's over or it's been cancelled. I wouldn't put it past her to stop the divorce to keep me as a back up, because she tries that with EVERY exe.

I found it really awkward that she would contact me a month before and when asked why she was calling, her response was "ohIprefernottotalkaboutit" - all kind of blurted out in one word just like that. Very common trait of a liar FYI.

Contact the county clerks office and reference the case number. You may have to pay to get a certified notarized copy of your decree, but its well worth it to have.

You can call up the courthouse for further information. Generally the public records will show if a divorce was granted.

Your wife can't "stop" the divorce. She doesn't even have to agree to getting a divorce. A judge will grant it whether she wants it or not. Most divorces are not mutual.
