Met my wife when I was 17, her 16. Dated 8 years through college (different schools 400 miles apart). Eventually both moved home and got married a year later. Now (2011) married 13 years. In 2010 I received a friend request on facebook from an old HS girlfriend I hadn't heard from in 22 years. Long story short - I had an 8 week emotional affair with her. I love you's - the whole deal. One evening my affair partner sent me a text and my wife picked up my phone, the text was completely mundane and I could have lied my way out of it but I wanted out of the affair and took the opportunity to confess it all. As I write this we are 15 months post discovery day. My wife and I are still working on our reconciliation and our marriage which today is better than it ever has been. We have and continue to use my horrible decision as an opportunity to examine and work on our marriage and to reconnect with each other. My wife is a wonderful person and I owe her everything for forgiving me and the way she treated me post D Day.
