How's the U.S. economy treating you?

Obviously the market is bad, but aside from that, how is your financial situation going? Still have your job? Business is slow? Sales are down? Not eating out as much? Buying generic? Driving less?

As a US small business owner, the more my customers suffer the harder it is for me.

I haven't noticed any changes for us. But then we've always lived conservatively.

I’m a technology salesman in the financial industries and this year’s sales (and compensation) are ahead of last year about 10%. However 07 was down about 25% from O6. We are not feeling any undue crunch at this time. The biggest hit we are taking is the header our 401K took with the market. Ouch!!! The Midwest has so far been pretty insulated from the down turn in the economy. We too are financially very conservative.
