At least we (meaning Canada) will end up with the RATIONAL people and all the irrational ones will stay there now

It won't be long before Canada wants to build a wall and make us pay for it.

The Donald wants to start greater production of coal

I say lets take it further and start manufacturing Buggy Whips to go back in time even more.

We shall see I hope his bark is worse than his bite.With the R party in control of the House & Senate he will have zero excuses Hopefully it's a good thing

I did not support the D but he is our President now Keeping an open mind for now.

He could start up a new War and put those 2000 M1 Tanks sitting in the Dessert In AZ (I Think) to use.

Speculation on what to expect now

I know a lot of people rail on about "Wall Street" and there is much to complain about. But be careful of pushing your politicians to do something AGAINST your own interests.

There are TRILLIONS - yes TRILLIONS of dollars sitting in corporate and personal pension funds, 401k (and SEP and 529 etc.) savings plans, AND supporting long term insurance contracts.

That is OUR PERSONAL savings, retirement and insurance proceeds.

Punishing "Wall Street" (which BOTH candidates wanted to do) actually punishes us.

I watched the market drop and amazing 700 points as the votes came in. It was the futures market betting on a plunge today. That would have knocked out a LOT of my retirement money and yours.

Fortunately, as usual, it was overreaction and I believe the markets are stable or a bit up.

My point is - don't let any politician get you emotionally and allow you to hurt yourself. They don't think about your money sitting out there.

Re: Speculation on what to expect now

I'm reading all the posts here today, because I'm still just sitting here shaking my head. Demographics aside, I still can't quite wrap my head around this election. Regarding the U.S. Senate seat, I voted for McCain's opponent. She had served two terms in the U.S. House, and I liked what she had to say. After all, it seemed to me (at least) that it was time to say out with the old guard. C'mon, the guy is 80 years old. He's had his chance to "shape" policy. I wanted some new blood in there. But two hours after the polls closed, McCain had scored a decisive victory.

What to expect now? Hell if I know. It still seems like the same old, same old. Democrats think the Republicans are the anti-Christ. (One of my FB friends actually posted that on her page.) Republicans still think Democrats are the spawn of Satan. It sounds like the mantra remains the same. Hate on both sides of the aisle.

There was so much name-calling and bashing during this election, I'm not exactly sure what the heck Trump will do. Maybe that's why I'm not quite sure what to make of this ...

I refuse to make anyone a priority in my life who considers me nothing more than an option.

You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.

Make it harder to be an illegal, and easier to be a legal. that is why it is such an issue now, easier to be a hidden illegal than to become a legal.

I expect he will try to get rid of a lot of red tape that government gives us. And attempt to get us out the Middle East.

Past that, not sure. I don't think his naysayers really have anything to say he will 'suck' because. We really don't know, either way, other than the stuff he is on record saying. ACA, border security, get America back to work and get us out of wars was essentially his platform.
There is no ACA replacement. It will be tax free HSA, premiums are tax deductible. State-run Medicaid for the poorest. Those who can't afford insurance and don't get Medicaid will have no coverage.

Exactly^^^I think both those that believe the end is nigh, as well as those that are expecting some great new start....are going to be very disappointed.

The only certain thing that I see is that the pendulum has swung the other way and the shoe is now on the other foot. What the left is experiencing right now was what the right experienced when Obama was elected. Hopelessness, despair, misery, the sky is falling hysteria, chickens with their heads cut off...

The only thing missing is labeling anyone that criticizes Trump as racist, since that's what happened under Obama.

What is U.S. electricity generation by energy source?

In 2015, the United States generated about 4 trillion kilowatthours of electricity.1 About 67% of the electricity generated was from fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum).

Major energy sources and percent share of total U.S. electricity generation in 2015:1

Coal = 33%
Natural gas = 33%
Nuclear = 20%
Hydropower = 6%
Other renewables = 7%
Biomass = 1.6%
Geothermal = 0.4%
Solar = 0.6%
Wind = 4.7%
Petroleum = 1%
Other gases = <1%
1 Preliminary data; based on generation by utility-scale facilities.

What ...is it more realistic to promote...."Geothermal"?

The democrats who are coming to take your guns away; OR

The republicans who are coming to take your abortions away.

Just thought this was funny lol :

But then this comment was made which I found it interesting:

Quote:
My assessment of post Trump-11 America: everything will stay the same. Trump will turn out just like any old politician. All this "outsider", "drain the swamp", "GAMA" crap was smartly crafted to win over the bored white trash forming your silent moral majority. Those elections were one year-long entertainment event. No stupid wall is gonna get built. No diplomatic relations will get screwed. Trump isn't even racist, nor conservative for that matter. He is just grabbing everybody by the *****, as Bhmi has pointed out, even them white supremacists. He's unwittingly exposing the ridiculous nature of Western public discourse which is based on cheap entertainment and profit-making. Bless that old nifty egomaniac sniffly dude for it. And now back to your boring lives everybody, election is over.
