The only thing missing is labeling anyone that criticizes Trump as racist, since that's what happened under Obama.
In the pendulum swing today, if you don't criticize Trump you are labeled racist.

Feh.

I just saw 50% of the population elect the man to the highest office in the nation. If even 100% of the other side was labeling everyone who didn't criticize him a racist, that's still

...let me think...
...mathy stuff...

half the population. Since it's nowhere near 100% of non-Trump voters who are doing this, your statement smacks of creating your own victimization mentality.

Look in the other threads, sir. Some TAMers are saying that people who voted for Trump are racists.

So what? That constitutes a "pendulum swing?"

Let's call that what it is - bad behavior by individuals, not some sea change in a huge segment of the population (which is what I call a pendulum swing).

For the record, I don't consider those voting for Trump in general to have been voting for racism. I do see them as willing to turn a blind eye to overtly racist rhetoric in order to accomplish some other goal.

I was agreeing with what Elegirl said; that if you (not you, personally) don't criticize Trump, you're a racist because you agree with his views, and you are anti immigration/Muslim/BBQ. Ergo, people who vote for Trump are racists.

OMG my FATHER voted for Hillary.

This is so weird.

I'm going to need some time to adjust to this.

Re: Speculation on what to expect now

Okay, arguments aside. And, believe me, I respect everyone's right here to argue to the death! Seriously.

Anyway ... Trump said he would block any further immigration of Syrians. He will track down illegals and get rid of them. (Good luck with that!) And he will rescind the Affordable Care Act (thank GOD for the middle class who carry the burden!). I'm speaking as an Independent here. And I DO NOT vote a party ticket, nor did I in this election. So from my perspective, that is what I imagine Trump will do in his first 100 days.

Still ... this evening we have anti-Trump rallies in the streets of major cities. This election wasn't about Hillary's "dishonesty" or Trump's "narcissism." This election is about a major - and very angry - schism that has occurred in our country. Right now, about 5,000 protesters are outside Trump Tower in NYC.

So what I expect? More polarization. And THAT is why I've been so damn confused, depressed, and sorrowful today.

I refuse to make anyone a priority in my life who considers me nothing more than an option.

Didn't trump ask marla maples to abort Tiffany? Anyway, we'll have more money lining our wallet. Of course, I could give a ****. Social issues are more important to me. Common core going down the drain would make life easier career wise

Sure I can. Not a "9" or a "10" and not an underage beauty pageant contestant.

Re: Speculation on what to expect now

Okay, I'm back while the ads are on. WTF????? People are out in the streets protesting the election of Trump. I have lived on this planet for 63 years and NEVER have I seen the loser's camp protest in the streets. Has it happened before 2016? I imagine it has in our nation's history. But not since I've been here.

What the hell are they protesting and why? The electorate voted. TONS of people are outraged. But why march??? It is a done deal. Granted, it IS a shock, but there you have it.

Gawd, I'm sick and tired of people marching, marching, marching. Go out and DO something for crying out loud!!! Volunteer in your community. Get plugged into a candidate or elected official with whom you relate.

BUT ENOUGH WITH THE POINTLESS MARCHING ALREADY!!!

I refuse to make anyone a priority in my life who considers me nothing more than an option.
