Add to that the F117 and B2 really aren't stealth anymore we have alot of catching up to do. It's been a long time since the US has been in that position.

Some things we don't have to speculate about. Here's the man who is going to run herd on the EPA.

Sigh. In a moment of utter and complete candor, the alienation of the Republican party from science is probably my biggest concern.

His Presidency is already successful before inauguration, because he kept the Wicked Witch of Arkansas out of the White House.

I expect him to have further achievements, but that is enough for me to be happy!

It doesn't make him money so why would he care to try to change it?!? Same thing with gay rights...

NAFTA on the other hand, is a fiscal issue and he WILL try to get rid of it along with the RIDICULOUS trade deficits that are bankrupting the US.

That's good for the economy and in turn good for him AND us.
I expect him and his Supreme Court nominees to say that abortion is a state issue, not a federal one.
Same goes for pot.

I can't imagine why you thought that.

Here's a shortcut to figure out what the left is guilty of: everything they accuse the right of.

But not since I've been here.

What the hell are they protesting and why? The electorate voted. TONS of people are outraged. But why march??? It is a done deal. Granted, it IS a shock, but there you have it.

Gawd, I'm sick and tired of people marching, marching, marching. Go out and DO something for crying out loud!!! Volunteer in your community. Get plugged into a candidate or elected official with whom you relate.

BUT ENOUGH WITH THE POINTLESS MARCHING ALREADY!!!
Remember the riots by the right wing after Obama won in 2008?
Neither do I.

This is an excellent illustration of psychological projection by the left: everything they accuse the right of, they are actually guilty of themselves.

I think he will do quite a bit, most of it good.

And by the way, the Democrats have a lot more Senate seats to defend in 2018 than the Republicans do, so if he does even 1/4 of what he said he would do, the Ds are likely to get their clocks cleaned then.

No surprise we differ on this. I look at the long game, and when faced with a long list of problems, I tackle the biggest problem first. The same way parents buy life insurance policies and save up money to leave for their children. They make plans for the future and not just concern for the here and now.

Remember the parable about the grasshopper and the ants that our teachers read to us? The grasshopper spends his summer days chilling and relaxing without a care in the world, while the ants are busy gathering food for the winter. When winter came, the grasshopper was hungry and had nothing, while the ants lived comfortably in their warm home, with plenty of food. Even squirrels instinctively know to plan for the winter by gathering nuts.
My plan is to revalue the Treasury's gold, held by the Fed, at $100K/oz., then use that to pay off the debt.
Assuming the Fed still has it, of course...

Holy crap! Did you swallow the hook when you took the bait?
This type of (non)thinking is part of the problem. I am not a fan of Obama, I didn't vote for him, I don't support him or his policies, but this is just so back-azz halfwards. We have these things called "drones" that don't require manned pilots or cost millions of dollars to build. These "drones" are small, evade detection, can fly for days, deliver payloads accurately and are largely disposable. Your argument is akin to stating we have fallen behind in buggy whip manufacturing and must catch up!
Actually I thought about it a little more. Buggy whips is probably not the example I should have used. Actually this is the same type of thinking that the Poles employed prior to WW2. They figured out they needed a more horses to fend off the German armor

At the center of every moMEnt of my life is ME!

Re: Speculation on what to expect now

This is why Trump's promises to bring back jobs will probably fail. Not because he's not a good POTUS, but because even the man in that position doesn't have the power to defy economic reality. If you want to worship unbridled capitalism, you get the whole thing, lock, stock, and barrel.

"The Carrier plant here is plenty profitable. But moving to Monterrey, where workers earn in a day what they make here in an hour, will increase profits faster."
