Re: How could a "moron" win the Presidency of the United States?

I don't think it's so much that he is or isn't a moron (and while I don't think he's a moron, he's definitely not the sharpest tool ever in that particular shed). He's not a moron, because he was at least clever enough to rally half the voters behind him by standing out as an outsider. And they voted for him both for that reason and because he wasn't Hillary - who's biggest failing is that she is part of the massive corproate-owned DNC machine. Interestingly, the media is also corporate-owned, by both left and right leaning corporations. So some of his base also voted against the GOP establishment. I think congressional republicans saw this coming, which explains why they were willing to endorse Trump to get through the election, while they figure out how they're going to manipulate him while he's in office.

The think I think is worse, is that damned campaign of his, contrasted with his acceptance speech. Which is the real trump? The crybaby liar before the election, or the benevolent authoritarian after it? All I see is insincerity, because both are who he "is" (or at least who he wants us to believe he is).

Doesn't matter. He got elected and we've got to figure out how to work with him. As for Clinton? I hope she retires quietly and lets the DNC rebuild themselves from the ground up. Because I still think the two-party system is our best bet. The parties are too self-serving, though. They both need to be about their base, not their corporate masters.

If this is true, then how can one explain how he could win the Presidency when opposed by the following:

1. What has been widely recognized to be the most effective political "machine" (not using the word pejoratively, just descriptively) in the world, namely the Hillary Clinton campaign;
2. The mainstream media;
3. The Republican establishment; and
4. The Democratic establishment

while spending 1/2 as much per vote as his opponent did, without counting the hundreds of millions of dollars of free media that his opponent got in the general election?

Yes, I know that he got a lot of free (positive) media, but that was all before he got the nomination. As soon as he was nominated, the knives came out.

So if he is a moron, what does that make his opposition?

Right wing radio? Jeez.

Ever wonder why Fox News blows away the competition in terms of viewership?

Conservatives made Fox News. Fox News did not make conservatives.

They don't make them. They make them angry. No important decision should be made in anger.

Conversations with conservatives since the election have shown me they didn't know who or what they voted for. Will be a rude awakening.

Sounds like you never even watched Fox

It is sickening to watch MSNBC or CNN or any of those crap channels.

Last few times i went to post office during lunch they have just one window open. Because they go to lunch during the busiest time.

Guess which TV station they always have on? CNN.

And it faces the workers, not the people waiting.

I'm not angry. Wasn't before. Not now. Relieved that America voted correctly.

President Trump.

Sounds great.

No more Bushes or Clintons or Kennedys

Certainly have watched Fox. And heard my share of liberal and conservative radio.

The constitution grants the government the power to establish post offices, but says nothing about they are required. Eliminate them, I say.

No. My profession has me selecting countries in which to locate manufacturing facilities. The US corp rate prevents me from building in US.

That is reality. Not some article.

But not the wages disparity?

In the USA, wages for manufacturing are as low as 10-12$ an hour. Mexico half of that, and China half again.

The same ratio is true for other jobs like software.
