Safe Space for those who are hurting after Election Day

It's hard for those who longed for Hillary Clinton to win, when she lost. And lost to Donald Trump.

In order for you to help calm your shattered souls and to heal your damaged psyches, your Safe Space holds several destinations that will help you regain your equilibrium.

Re: Safe Space for those who are hurting after Election Day

I know this was meant as a joke. However, can someone please explain why this presidential campaign and election has caused such mass hysteria in the populace?

It is beyond my comprehension ... the crap on Facebook, the "heard a rumor so it must be true" reactionary nut-jobs, the stage one thinking, the violence, etc ... it's as if they think the "end times" are coming.

Because all the younger ones always got a trophy growing up...even when they came in last...and they can't cope with losing...

Part of it is that Hillary and the part of the press (MSM mostly) that supported her put out propaganda to paint anyone who thinks differently than them as being stupid, evil, racists... you know the "deplorables". {What kind of Presidential candidate calls half the country "deplorables"? And she wanted them to vote for her?}

After the election, the press was doing show after show about how Trump's win was the end of the world as we know it. When the press is and the TV news host are in a panic and crying, this is what happens to people who taken them seriously.

Add to that the people/organizations that are paying for agitators and rioters. Soros, communist party, socialist groups are all doing this.

Obama is on a world tour for the very reason to spread this hysteria to other countries.

But even our news casters have been doing this. Our current president has been doing it. Soros too.

Well that's because the above is the only argument that stage one thinkers have and they have been using it for decades. It's nonsensical and I don't understand why anyone with half a brain buys into it.

Re: Safe Space for those who are hurting after Election Day

They've never learned to lose graciously, or at the very least, to accept the result like adults. Now they want to move the goal post. They don't respect the process. They can throw a punch as the bully but instantly turns victim to decry disproportionate use of force.

They're emotionally immature who are not above violent protests, blocking freeways, and beating people/pets up to express their rage. Their parents never gave them that swat on the butt when they misbehaved when they were young, and now, it's too late.

They have completely immersed themselves in identity politics. Whether it be race, gender, or class; to be on the receiving end of their attacks can mean losing one's job and livelihood, as well as receiving death threats. Paula Deen said the n word some thirty or forty years ago, and they labeled her a racist. She ended up having to grovel at the altar of political correctness for forgiveness from the arbiters of what constitutes racism. She lost much of her media empire over it. One of Trump's daughters has received many death threats after the election. Some fashion designer who made gowns for Michelle Obama has refused to do the same for Melania Trump (even though Melania Trump has not asked).

It doesn't help that we have the online lynch mob who are ever ready to destroy anyone they dislike.

They lack the self-awareness to look in the mirror to identify their faults. It's always someone else's fault. They only see the log in their neighbor's eyes. Both sides do this, but the left are guilty of it more than the right. How many protests took place when Obama won in 2008? They failed to learn about personal responsibility and accountability.

They are easily led astray. The Dems use so many A list celebrities to sway the masses. They also have the vast majority of the media toeing the party line. They hear something from the media and take it as gospel. It's amazing how many still think that Governor Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house. That line was from SNL's Tina Fey. If some satirical website writes up some article about how Palin did this dumb thing, they'd pass it around as facts.

They are more emotionally driven and very reactionary.

Re: Safe Space for those who are hurting after Election Day

If you have a liberal news feed, you will see indications that Donald Trump is a serious threat. That he is is a fascist, who is racist and sexist. That he is in bed with the Russians, has no respect for human life and may be nuclear trigger happy. He may put Muslims in concentration camps and may very well nuke Iran killing tens of millions of people. You will be sure that climate change is nearly irreversable, and will kill hundreds of millions of people over the next century. I know people who truly believe this

If you have a conservative news feed you will have been worried that the Obama administration was taking away all our rights. That college students are such wusses that they quail at any sign of disagreement and need "safe spaces" where no negative word can be heard and how this is dangerously weakening our country. You will hear how millions of illegal immigrants are taking our jobs. How there are terrorists embedded in those immigrant groups. You will hear of the great hoards of lazy people who could work, but choose instead to live on the work of others. You believe that climate change either doesn't exist or is minor, and is being pushed by special interest groups. I know people who truly believe this.

Based on what they see, each side thinks of themselves as reasonable, and the other side as completely insane.

I am starting to believe that we are under attack by a weapon we don't understand. That media is being manipulated to drive a wedge in this country. At least that is a more comforting thought than the idea that we are going to slip into chaos because we are just STUPID.

Re: Safe Space for those who are hurting after Election Day

The University of Pennsylvania created a "safe space" for their students that had puppies and coloring books. If you need a space like this, you don't belong in a university. Universities might subject you to thoughts that are different than your own. You might get a taste of... gasp... DIVERSITY. If you can't handle that, your best "safe space" is at home with your parents, not among a world of adults.

Re: Safe Space for those who are hurting after Election Day

I know right? These g-d Libs and their weak wills. Just the other day I saw these people who were all like, Trump was a reality tv show star. And he was married 3 times. And he like went bankrupt multiple times, screwing people out of money...but that was so smart of him. And he doesn't pay taxes, and he love to just get up in there and grab him some woman stuff. And he really has a plan for the country and he wants to build a wall that goes under ground even and he doesn't even know who David duke is! It's like if you took Abraham Lincoln, Chester A Arthur, William McKinley and Gerald Ford, put them in a meat grinder, then added a sprinkle of Ronald Reagan and maybe a hair or two of Ghengis Khan and Julius Caesar and stuffed it into pigs intestine and cooked for like 3 hours at 375 degrees, then garnish it with some homemade relish, you know, the sweet but tangy mind, you'd have a ****ing sausage that would make your nuts implode.

This ****ing guy needs to be our president.

This is why I read things on as many sides of any topic as I can find. Then make up my own mind.

The below about sums it up....

My Dear Wormwood,

Be sure that the patient remains completely fixated on politics. Arguments, political gossip, and obsessing on the faults of people they have never met serves as an excellent distraction from advancing in personal virtue, character, and the things the patient can control. Make sure to keep the patient in a constant state of angst, frustration and general disdain towards the rest of the human race in order to avoid any kind of charity or inner peace from further developing. Ensure that the patient continues to believe that the problem is “out there” in the “broken system” rather than recognizing there is a problem with himself.

Keep up the good work,

Uncle Screwtape

You cannot consume a single source of news, conservative or liberal, and be well informed, it's just not possible. If you look at multiple news sources you find that half the stuff reported on the so-called national news is sourced in opinion, innuendo, rumor or other crap. It doesn't take rocket-science to figure that out. Televised news shows are the worse of the lot and, newspapers are a close 2nd.

I don't think the chaos is caused by stupidity, it appears to me that more and more of humanity is choosing not to think and instead parrot and follow blindly.

I realize that most of your post was touch-in-cheek, however if you believe the above quoted portion as fact then you too are buying into the media bullsh!t.
