Presidential Transition

I found the following interesting, not only because of what he said but because of the forum.

Apparently Trump intends to use different forms of social media to reach out directly to the American people. This sort of reminds me of Roosevelt's radio shows.

A Message from President-Elect Donald J. Trump

Basically I think he's found a way to prevent the press from what they have been doing during the election..twisting everything he says.

Note that I am not giving my opinion on what he said.

Re: Presidential Transition

Sounds promising, but we'll have to wait and see. Where he is now is way ahead of then President-Elect Obama. He doesn't need to know everything; he just needs to assemble talented people to lend their knowledge and expertise. He definitely has more business acumen than Obama and can see a bigger overall picture.

The media has gotten way out of control, and this is an interesting way to talk directly to the American people, effectively bypassing all the doomsday scenarios from the pundits.

Re: Presidential Transition

Yep, that's my take too. I like it as a form of communication directly to us.

Re: Presidential Transition

I doubt that some of the media will like this.

Oh well that's too bad for them.

Ele,

After the performance of the media in the election campaign they deserve to be shut out completely. They did not even make an attempt to do their job and be unbiased, and quite frankly bragged about not being honest in reporting. So why should Trump put himself into a situation where the same ass holes who did everything within their power to subvert his campaign get to spin anything he says into more lies.

And no one seemde to care when Hillary Clinton did not have a press conference for 260 days or anytime Obama only subjected himself to "softball" questions.

Tough **** media. The media is frergarded in LOWER esteem for their behavior than either candidate ever was or even Congress as bad as they have beer rated.

The fact is gthe Democrats don't want the same rules. George Bush kept out of obamas transition and never said a word about his policies. You think he liked anything Obama did/? But this classless narcissist won't have the same courtesy. He actually thinks that despite the national and statewide position his party is in ( worst in 100 years at all levels) that nothing had to do with any of his failed policies.

Re: Presidential Transition

Did anyone watch the videos YouTube put up immediately following Trump's? The second one predicted his impeachment. You can't make this baloney up!

Direct, clear speech.
No political mumbo-jumbo.
I believe he is looking to create opportunities for every American.

We owe it to ourself to work with him and his efforts.
He will raise and fall on his actual performance.

A billionaire who cares about every American? What has led so many Americans to this improbable conclusion? Trump can barely articulate a coherent thought and most of the time doesn't. He is a master chef and his signature dish is word salad.

What does one gain with being negative and unwilling to give fresh plans a try?

Oh, maybe what's holding some back is our current sustained level of social, economic, and international success.

Dismissing efforts out of hand is shortsighted and prejudice. Hopefully most Americans will take a more pragmatic approach.

Actually, people who have worked for him and who have negotiated with him don't agree that he can barely articulate a coherent thought.

Re: Presidential Transition

I can almost the first three words of Trump's detractors two years hence, "But, but, but.

If you don't embody controversy, what you say will become just another part of the media driven culture of stifling thought and debate about issues.

Re: Presidential Transition

It's not going to matter, if he doesn't do something to bring the internet back under US control, and out of the hands of the UN.

I don't know if anyone else here is paying attention, but the major news sources, as well as Facebook and Twitter are beating the war drums to crack down and sensor any news that doesn't come from the legacy media. It's all "fake news" if they don't like what they see, and they are trying to ban anything that isn't theirs.

This can't be allowed, and I encourage anyone who cares at all about free speech and open dialogue--whether you are on the left or right--to write a letter to President-Elect Trump and ask him to take the internet back. It would be helpful to try to get people to also use FB / Twitter to do the same, in a more visible manner.

I find that Republican politicians are having to do this to protect themselves from the liberal media. I never was quite aware of just how much liberal bias there is in the media. It's to the point I don't want to watch tv news anymore, it's a bunch of attacks on Republicans.
