Am I missing something here? By the way some of the media is talking, was Castro some sort of super hero / role model / all around good guy???

Same here. I wish all people would:

1. Read from different sources.
2. Read sources that have depth.
3. Read sources that use original reporting.

Fidel's brother, Raul, has been running the country for the last few years so I don't think that things are going to change much for Cuba.

Nope nothing will change. Fidel has been a figure head for some time now. It's just good to see murderous tyrants die.

Why don't you try it on Raul Castro, Kim Jong Il, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, Keith Richards...

Re: Castro is dead!

After serving and fighting in Vietnam I enrolled in college. 1969

In a history class we were to write a paper on whether we should reestablish diplomatic relations with Cuba.

I wrote a very impassioned paper on the evils of Communism and how Castro and Guervera were non-nationalist deceivers and murderous butchers. I vehemently said no to any rapportment with the island nation.

The professor handed back my paper telling me to rewrite it. He said the facts were unproven and inflammatory.

I refused to do this and consequently dropped his class.

This....This is the nub of the stick that pokes me in the eye when the light of day energizes my optic nerve....SunCMars.... The Allegory of the Cave--> On this, I did a '180' and stepped out.

The Lion in Winter. Invictus..By Will, Shall... Saved from harm by my friends.

Look him up to see if he's alive and remind him of this.

Oh sure. The liberal press loves to eulogize communist and totalitarian dictators like Castro, Yasser Arafat, Carlos Gaviria... murderers all.
