He doesn't speak to me. I wish he would.

How long do you spend with Him? Do you read his word?

Re: GOD

I have read quite a bit of the bible, but I'm forced to conclude that some of it is NOT his word because what it describes is too horrible. . He is everywhere so I don't know where I would go to spend time with him.

OK. You sit down and talk to him just as you would talk to a person who was sitting there in the room with you. He is there. Or do what I do and chat to him when you are going for a walk, or working in the house, or in the car. He is an amazing Father who longs for us to just be with Him. Say what is on you mind, ask questions, be yourself.

How about read the gospel of John.Use an up to date version of the bible. It will show you who Jesus Christ is.

So you actually believe you have ongoing conversations with what you believe is a deity that talks to you?

What does "God's" voice sound like?

What sort of accent does your god have?

Does your god speak to you in English or another language?

How do you know, you're not imagining all of this?

What happens when more than one person is chatting to your god in the same room at the same time?

Do you all have to wait your turn for your god to address each of you, or are you all spoken to simultaneously?

Is your god invisible or can you see god when you chat?

God speaks in many ways. Sometimes though our minds, sometimes through nature and the world around us, sometimes though others.

How do I know its Him? Well for example, there have been several occasions where my husband and I were praying about something specific that we needed wisdom about, and He gave us the same answer on the same day but when we were praying alone. It was quite amazing.
We know its Him.

God isn't like us, limited to talking and listening to one person at a time. He is everywhere and all knowing and all listening. He communicates using the language we speak. Not much use if he speaks to me in Chinese.

No we cant see Him, He is spirit, but often I can sense His presence.

Cool Re: GOD

As a born-again Christian, one can see God in the faces and the actions of all of my fellow brothers and sisters.

I can most definitely see Him in the faces and the eyes of little children!

And if you ever commune with nature, you can see Him in the fields, forests, mountains, and all of the other natural wonders that He has so lovingly created!

I can also feel His presence whenever I'm worshipping in church or praying at the alter rail.

I even feel His presence there with me if I'm at home in the love extended to me by my W and kids! And also if I'm off alone praying in some remote corner of the house!

And although I cannot physically see Him, you definitely sense that His presence is definitely there with you!

Absolutely, and all these things point to a different facet of his personality.

It was my way of starting a discussion about God. Not just any god by the way. I want to talk about the only true and living God, the one that has no beginning and no end.

Psalms 92:[2] Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Re: GOD

Again, I ask why does it seem that those who feel the need to continually witness seem to come across as trying to convince themselves that what they believe is true. Because I don't need faith, nor do I need belief. I know what I know and I also know what I don't know.

Something, someone told me a long time ago:

Searching for truth with an open mind is more rewarding than belief, which by definition is unquestioning.

At the center of every moMEnt of my life is ME!

Because I can never have enough faith. If I come across as "trying to convince myself" of what I believe, it's because that's exactly what I am doing. It's threads like these that increase my faith.
The contrast is deafening.

Mark 9:24 ............ Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

I am glad to see you admit that. I am not being judgemental I am merely stating an observation. My observation is also that many struggle with faith because of the overlay of religion over top of your knowledge of God. Religion is just an effort by man to control your relationship to God. Again IMO, one does not need some earthly conduit (nor should God) to have a relationship with him. Religious "belief" prevents knowing God far more than it helps.

If God is able to create all of heaven and earth, including me, it would be a VERY small thing to inspire and preserve a book for His people.

I believe the Bible IS the word of God. Do I understand it all? Not even remotely close.

As far as God being able to reach His children with out it. No problem.
