Trump and communication

Can we dissect this a little...

That conversation with the Jew will be my example... the Jew states that he and his community do not think he is an anti-Semite. Then proceeds to try to address an issue... the increasing threats made to the Jewish community.

Trump "listens" to this man, and immediately gets defensive. He completely does not hear him correctly, and trump goes on the defense and defends the fact that he is not racist or an anti-Semite. Which confuses everyone because no one said that. Then he gets mad and offended and disrespects that guy and is disgusted with the question. So trump gets offended, and didn't address the real problem... increasing threads on Jews.

So my question is... what is wrong with trump? Is he a narcissist? Every question he has to make it about himself, and defend himself or brag about himself. It's not about you trump... it's about the people who have REAL issues.

I don't want to bring my husband into this, but my husband does this. I ask a question and he feels attacked and immediately goes on the defense. And I'm like wait what? Nobody even said that.

Re: Trump and communication

yes, trump is probably a narcissist. IMO, almost all politicians at the national level are...

He also says what he thinks, which is somewhat a breath of fresh air in the current state of 'you can't say anything that might offend anyone' PC that we have today.

Re: Trump and communication

A few mental health professionals have thrown around the narcissism label among a few other labels. But I think it's a breach of ethics to attempt a diagnosis without personally examining an individual sooo basically we'll never know what,if anything, is wrong with him.

Re: Trump and communication

But trump can't address an issue. Because he always feels like he's being attacked. It's crazy.

The issue is... Jews are being threatened.
Trump hears... your racist.
It's crazy.

Re: Trump and communication

If he was doing this on his TV Show or on a porch in some small town, we'd all laugh and move along. We can't do this because the things he says and does affects people globally. To me, he is the crotchety old man yelling "Get off my Lawn," a la Archie Bunker, on the biggest stage imaginable. I had a grandfather who was similar to this guy. We used to laugh because he'd say what was on his mind, get highly defensive when you disagreed and you loved him to death. Yes, my Grandfather had some innate bigotry issues as well.

Nope, not saying it is right, but the stage makes it awful and scary for many people.

Nothing's wrong with him, he's just had it with all the attacks from liberal media. I'm getting sick of it myself. The morning news and the night news is nothing more than attack after attack launched against him. I've never really noticed how liberal and biased network news is until now. If the liberal network news is really the unbiased voice of the people, why did Hilary lose?

Did I say something was wrong with him? I'm not his doctor and I'm not a mental health professional so I have no idea. As far as attacks go...many politicians have had to survive constant attacks from all angles. This isn't an exclusively Trump problem.

He shouldn't be focused on the media. The only reason he is IS because he is a narcissist and cares so much about how he looks. He is the president... he needs to focus on the issues and addressing the issues that affect Americans. Not the media that only affects him.
That man was trying to address a serious issue to him. Which could be a life threatening issue, especially if there are increases in threats to his community. But he got completely shut down. That is NOT ok. The media is not an issue, it's a distraction. Trump is fine... he's a rich 70 year old with a successful healthy family. Who cares if people are teasing you and making you look bad, your fine. Your the president... take care of people who aren't as lucky as you.

Meh, he's been this way for decades. To me it is the Karma Bus which hit him and Hillary.

Who attacked him? This man was asking a question. If anything Trump attacked the Jew... telling him to be quite, sit down, and then to proceed not to address the issue and call it a disgusting question.

The media has nothing to do with that Jewish man, they are 2 separate things.

In this instance he wasn't being attacked, but he has been attacked by media so much that at this point he probably assumes that anyone who wants to talk to him wants to attack him.

Exactly. That's what media does. Media attacked Obama too. Trump attacked Obama for years. But Obama was able to stay on task and stay focus on the issues. Not get into this thing about himself.

Trump really needs to put aside the media, and stop worrying about how he looks if he wants to succeed. There are always going to be haters, but he needs to stay focused on the issues and address the issues because that's whats important.

He is more concerned about himself then the people and it shows. He's attacking the media strongly because it's about himself.

But trump literally attacks everyone. He says some harsh comments and insults a lot of people. You can't just dish it out and not be able to take it. It's really crazy to me. He has such thin skin when it comes to criticism but he criticizes and insults everyone.

Excellent point. I think I've blocked out so much of what has been going on in politics that I forgot how many people Trump has attacked over and over. It's tough to keep up with the long list of folks who have been at the receiving end of his attacks throughout the years.
