At my age, my body feels pretty fluid. Well, I'm going spend part of my day jamming with friends, then workout later in the day.

Re: A Day Without A Woman

I went to the website to check out what the march was for, this is what it said:

Receiving Lower Wages
Experiencing Greater Inequities
Vulnerability to Discrimination
Sexual Harassment
Job Insecurity

Is there any reports or statistics for this?
Is there any push on legislation that could help?

If you search Wage Gap you will find plenty of articles (supporting and disproving). I can think of jobs where there is zero pay gap, jobs where there is a pay gap that is justified, jobs where there are pay gaps that aren't justified, etc... There are a lot of variables, so at least to me, it becomes problematic when you starting grouping everything together under one umbrella.

In terms of discrimination/sexual harassment, it is illegal to do as an employer so there are steps that an employee can take if they believe they are a victim (obviously the ideal situation is where neither of these exist in the first place as there really should be zero tolerance for).

Re: A Day Without A Woman

How about a "Day of Respect" instead?

A Day of Understanding?

A Day without Anger?

A Day without Taking Oneself So Serious?

"Identity politics" tend to identify us protesting in ways we wouldn't like others behaving, yet we are willing to behave like.

Perhaps equality is not a good thing to achieve at times...

I have not heard about a day without women. It will be a flop too. Why? Because most women who work cannot just take a day off work for the hell of it. And most women whoa re SHAM's cannot just ignore the kids for the day.

Silly....
Elegirl,

I am surprised that you have not learned that you cannot make the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. The protest was called "A Day Without Immigrants".

I have already called the PC police!

We just had a president take 8 years off. If would be nice to have one that actually does his job.

your right blue, but instead we have a guy who tweets at 4:00 in the morning when he gets up to pee, about being wiretapped, made up events in sweden and bowling green, and happy to see his replacement in a reality show is no longer there.....yeah your right that is real presidential.

@SunCMars posts are usually decipherable, it just takes time.

It's easy enough to skip right past if you're not interested, there's plenty of "normal" posts to read.

I'll usually take a shot at it and if I find I'm struggling then I just say screw it and move on.

There's a lot of time and effort in those posts, they're probably just as difficult to write as they are to read and interpret.

Although I just read another @SunCMars posts where he says his wife has anxiety and panic attacks. I wonder if has anything to do with (for example) him coming home and saying "The door hasth opened and cast a feathered flock unto my withering oral cavity as such I can move forward and prosper" rather than saying "I'm starving can we have chicken for dinner?"

@FeministInPink was your co worker part of a Virginia school district? Just came across this article:

Quote:
"In Alexandria Public Schools in Northern Virginia, more than 300 staff members have asked for the day off, prompting district officials to take the extraordinary step of canceling class. In a note on its website, the superintendent said its 18 schools would not have enough teachers on Wednesday," reports The New York Times.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School District in North Carolina also called off classes for Wednesday, after a "significant" number of staffers called in. "The roughly 12,300 students are to stay home, and the day will be an optional teacher workday," notes the Times.

“It is my determination that we will not have enough staff to safely run our school district,” said interim superintendent, Jim Causby.

So, um, how does this stick it The Patriarchy, exactly? What about the working women now scrambling to find someone to watch their kids at the last minute? Or the single moms who can't afford to take a day off or pay someone to watch their children because you want to virtue signal? Are they just collateral damage?

It looks like it.

This backfire shows how silly Western feminism has become. Instead of, perhaps, addressing the issue of widespread single motherhood, demanding more from men, or, God forbid, looking globally to actual systemic female oppression, feminists are inventing victimhood and hurting less affluent women in the process of "protesting" against it.

Re: A Day Without A Woman

I didn't wear a bra to work today, does that count??

I actually had no idea this was even a thing till I got to work today. Pretty stupid if you ask me - many people will just get fired if they take a day off like this. Or, like me, lose a days pay they can't afford. And, like has been mentioned, have to just do twice as much the next day.

My employer treats everyone with equal disrespect, so I can't complain there. I have no idea about wage inequality - I wouldn't even know where to look for a male that does what I do. I work because I have to, not because I want to. My job really isn't that important to me for anything other than a paycheque. My real life starts at 4:30 pm, and I have no desire to take the 'day off' at home - I know there's no problems with me being appreciated there!

I certainly could, I'd prefer it. Then I could go looking for a normal relationship.
