Not anti-gay, from my understanding...just in favor of traditional marriage. There's a difference to me.
I appreciate his right to think what he wants, and I appreciate my right not to patronize his business.
I've never eaten there though so...I don't really care.
I DO think people are getting stupid about it. SO MANY of the things we buy and patronize do shady things we wouldn't agree with, they just aren't verbal about it.
Thanks for the laugh. Fox obviously leans to the right whereas the rest of them, particularly MSNBC, are so blatantly left wing that they may as well be the media arm of the Democrat party.
The issue is not the political leanings of media networks, but the accuracy of their reporting.
Is your point Joe is that you wish people wouldn't make consumer decisions based on politics?
No not really, people have the right to express their opinion via their wallets, if they feel that strongly about Chik-Fil-A's stance and don't want to eat there, that is absolutely their right.
What I can't stand most of all the media and the left's double standard on this. As I stated, Obama held the same position up until his recent "evolution". The mayors of Boston and Chicago openly support Islamic causes who are FAR AND AWAY less tolerant of gays than Christianity. When are people going to protest THEM?
I should add that CFA made an even poorer decision by claiming the Henson toys were defective when it was a clear case of spite. I would have respected them more if they pulled the toys and stated that since their business relationship was strained they would no longer use them.
I have read (I can't remember where, so take it with a grain of salt) that CFA pulled the toys the day before this crap exploded.
I hate that the media and the politicians try to put us in little groups. We are never just Americans. Why must I be pro or anti anything? Why can't I live by the expression "It neither breaks my leg, nor picks my pocket." Why does the federal government think they can make better decisions about our lives than we can? Why? Because we let them.
Hunter S. Thompson once said "If I'd written all the truth I knew for the past ten years, about 600 people - including me - would be rotting in prison cells from Rio to Seattle today. Absolute truth is a very rare and dangerous commodity in the context of professional journalism."

Brian Henson pulled out of the deal with Chik-Fil-A.
It's bad enough that a pathetic piece of horsecrap like Rahm Emanuel can require a business license, fees, zoning variances, etc. whatever so you can have the "privilege" of operating YOUR business in HIS city.
Now you have to THINK like him too?
When he was working for an Administration that held EXACTLY the same view as the Chick Fil A execs less than 6 months ago?
And our pathetic blow-dried jackasses in the dominant media go along with this charade?
I repeat....
Who the hell do Rahm Emanuel and his thug aldermen think they are?
Well, Joe I agree with you there, show me a politician and I'll show you hypocrisy
as as far as you wish to scream bias in the media, they are also in the free market and will publish or print stories based highly on what the reader/viewers/etc wish to consume. The story became a headliner once Henson made their decision to pull out and speak up. The media can't resist a salacious story of two "family" companies going at it.
@ Joe...I hope you understand I am not attacking you personally..I will not do that..I value your opinion and I'd like to debate the issue with people of the opposite position of myself..There is something to be learned from both sides..once we can see though the bull thats clouding each side.
Of course not geek down, I value yours as well. I love a good, respectful debate and I too like to learn from opposing views.
These do not have anything to do with the debate at hand.. Its a tangent to debate the issues of truth in journalism when the debate is about boycotting a resturant for civil rights issues..
