Re: What's the deal with getting "banned"?

I don't need confidence to fall down, I can tell you that much, I have plenty of ways to fall down.

Re: A question for men..

There is a lot to it. Some men lost their mother at an early age, never got over it, and just want a hug from a woman, some men hated their mother and want to go on some sort of conquest. Freud...

Re: What's the deal with getting "banned"?

My wife was banned for "questioning forum again rather than reporting post/inciting mods" (whatever that means). I don't see a rule against that particular activity in the rules.

What she said was...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

Rose and company, today is Mrs. Parrothead's and my anniversary. We have been goofing off here for a bit but we are off for dinner, cigars, and whatever mischief we can conjure up.

Well, thanks be to God, and may the blessings of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit be with you, now and forever.

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

I kinda think you are in the right place. My former priest and mentor told me that in his next life he was going to come back as an Orthodox priest. (You'd have to know him. His sense of humor is as...

Re: Anyone else as fed up

Not all Americans are dissatisfied. I find the health care in America satisfactory, it's sure as hell better than government, and for a lot less money.

In any case, the health care system we have...

Re: Anyone else as fed up

People who are alive because of it tend to be happier. People who think the cost of staying alive is too spendy aren't.

If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free.

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

And by the way, Mrs. Parrothead is fuming at the comments directed at me from people who call themselves "nice".

They ought to look up the etymology of the word some time.

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

Why, thank you Rose. I appreciate you taking my criticism in the spirit in which it was intended.

Now, as for the rest of your comments, alas, I am but a sinner in need of Grace, like many...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

MY mind is as closed as a steel trap?? Is that the pot calling the kettle black or what?

Number one, I am not trying to "convert" anybody. I made a post about moral relativism. In any case,...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

That's the rumor. It still doesn't make everything morally equivalent. You need some familiarity with God to understand why.

What makes you the authority on what I am or am not?

Come...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

Yeah, thinking is hard if you are not used to it. It was hard for me, too, but soon you become acclimated to it. I read somewhere a long time ago that most of the time ordinary people don't "think"...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

Well, "trying on God" doesn't have to be as complicated as most people make it. In one of the Star Trek movies, engineer Scott remarked: "The more they over-think the plumbing, the easier it is to...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

Do you have something against accurate definitions?

I am going to tell you the same thing I tell others who respond to me this way - I am not asking you to think like me, I am just asking you to...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

I am still trying to figure out what it is that makes you think that both of these societies have to be "right" and worshipping God in a way pleasing to Him.

I have people on this forum tell me I...

Re: Raising "Right and Wrong" Kids in a "Whatever" World

The book I had didn't have anything in it about killing vs. murdering - it said things like share, no hitting, wash your hands after going to the bathroom, stuff like that.

Nobody ever told you...
