Women feel love when he's loving; men feel loved when she's showing him respect. It refers to the 'crazy cycle' marriages sometimes are one when: he's not going to love her until he gets respect; she's not going to respect him until he is more loving. This cycle continues until one of them 'grows up' and decides to take the first step & give their spouse what they need most: Love or Respect. DH & I read this & did the workbook. Very helpful to us both. Helped us understand that we're not necessarily wrong; we both just need to 'tweak' some things. This book is christian based, but it does not 'shove' it down your throat so to speak.
We also read the 'Five Love Languages" and watched the DVD. That was also very insightful.
