advice for self help marriage counseling

You can't put a price on happiness but unfortunately we have to. My wife and I are broke. That is part of the stress the ruins many areas in the relationship. But we are willing to work on it. I am just curious, after my wife's 3 day cooling period at her sisters we want to sit down and really talk. Problem with us is making up is always just sex. We never actually talk about what the fight was about or how to avoid fights in the future.

Are there any good home remedies or self counseling tips anyone has for us? Should we right what we hate and love want or need. Ect...what can we do?

Re: advice for self help marriage counseling

There are some good books that I think help a lot.

"Love Busters" and "His Needs, Her Needs".

These two books are better than any marriage counseling I've ever been to.

Go to the library and read books about marriage like a mad man.

Share the sections and ideas of the books that hit home with your spouse and discuss it calmly to find common ground.

If it starts getting heated then take a break.

Free expert advice. All it takes is time.

An alternative is to surf the web and read there behind the comfort of your 'puter.

Important to share it with your spouse and discuss the subjects that interest you. Take turns picking the subject so its not one sided
