How do I get the stains out of my son's ball pants?
Now that baseball season's almost over for my son, I'm trying to figure out how the other moms have been able to keep their son's pants so clean! My kid gets up to bat and it looks like I haven't even washed his pants. I've bleached them, used various stain sticks, you name it. I know this is a crazy question, but what works? The pants are white BTW.

We are just starting baseball season with both of my sons and I will have to try this product out. Don't fret to much both of my sons pants look like I don't wash them by the time the season is over also. Maybe this stuff will make them at least look like I attempted to clean them.

try rubbing some GO-JO (mechanics) hand cleaner on the stains, then toss them into the laundry, works on my clothes quite well. You can get it in the auto section at any store, and they have it in small containers, so if it doesn't work out, you didn't spend a fortune for nothing.

Thanks for all the input. My son could care less. He loves to get dirty. I just want him to look presentable on the field-- like he means business. I haven't gotten a chance to try any of this stuff, but the only thing on the list I have tried before is Oxy Clean spray. You've definitely given me a lot to work with. Maybe it will get some of the paint stains out of my daughters shirts as well.

My sons 12 and 10 have been playing baseball since they were five. By the end of season they are filthy. I only keep one pair that they use for pictures to look nice after that they take pride in the amount of dirt ground into their pants.

Wait a second... you're looking at this all wrong!! The dirty pants are an indication that he's played HARD!!! Good for him and you should be proud!! Dirt on the pants just gives them character!!! I know on my husband's softball team, when they walk off the field they give grief to the guys who are still clean. Consider it a step above the rest. When he's grown and you look back you'll remember how he played, not how dirty he was.

In many ways I agree. It's not that I have an issue with him being dirty. His coach last year was a retired professional baseball player. He was very particular about the way the players showed up. They were benched if they forgot their hats or belts. Shirts had to be tucked in. He wanted them looking professional. I don't think he expected the pants to remain crisp throughout the season, but he wanted the boys to look like they were putting forth effort in every way. He was pretty tough on the parents, too. We respected him, but I do think coaches can go a little overboard with these kids at such a young age. I can't imagine what it will be like when my kid's in high school sports! I was shocked to find out that many parents would pay several hundred dollars for a baseball bat. What?!! It's a lot different than it was when I was playing many moons ago.

If you are really really serious about getting the pants snow white again then talk to your local drycleaner. I grew up in the dry cleaning business and we have this wonderful chemical called sodium borate that works especially well on white garments. We have cleaned wedding gowns and seventy-five year old christening outfits with it and they looked like new again. We only charge two dollars more per garment and it takes a couple of days to accomplish because the garment has to literally soak for twenty-four hours in the solution.

i use oxi clean and stain devil on my son's bibs t-shirts etc because hes a dribbler doesnt matter what i give him its all down his front and they work a treat on his white stuff stain devil is the more effective of the two unsure if you get it in the states tho?? am sure you do

If the clothes are dirty, I think this is an indication that they're putting forth effort and aren't just sitting around trying to look pretty.
Here's shock for ya... my husband plays slow pitch men's softball. He pays hundreds of dollars for one softball bat... and he's probably got 20 or so in his collection. I'm not saying he spends that much on each one, but the potential is there to spend infinite $$ on anything in any sport. It's an obsession.

Why go to all that trouble when they just get them dirty again?
I mean, yeah, they will look clean when you first start playing the game, but after the game is over, looks like you didn't even wash them. I don't mean don't wash them at all, but I wouldn't go nuts trying to make them look like you just bought them.
