That was really nice. That's the kind of sports stories I like.

It made me think of the old movie about Babe Ruth. I know the movie was the sanitized version of his life, and there's doubt that he really called the shot. Still, it's a good story.

I'm glad I posted it then

I almost didn't because I figured you probably had posted it already, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I went ahead.

Thanks dear!

Here's one that I know that you will most DEFINITELY LOVE!

It's about Trinidad done somewhere in the 40's or 50's by an American all girl group called " The Andrew Sisters."

Andrew Sisters - Rum & Coca Cola.

The song was written during world war II.
The song is about the fun times the US Marines had here during the war.
There were about three American bases and airfields down here , in Trinidad, and a port designed for submarines.
Apparently Hitler had his eyes on this country because of its close proximity to South America. The country was heavily fortified with Anti Aircraft and 75 [?] mm cannons, Bomb shelters and ammunition bunkers.

Rachel is singing Yesterday wonder if recorded before or after Kory's death she looks soooo sad

Last year's Project Runway winner, Anya Ayoung-Chee.
She's also from Trinidad too.
That clip is from one of her shows in the Fashion Capital in Trinidad.

Negril and Ocho Rios in Jamaica is nice.
Did you get to visit the Ganga [ Marijuana ] plantations?
Well, we had a bartender from the resort drive us up the mountain, ate some cool berries that natives eat yummy, went to Bob's place and he was supposed to take us to one side of the mountain to see a plantation...BUT we got mixed up and taken down the other side to where the squatter's had carved out little patches of different strains....then the land Owner who we were supposed to have been accompanied by showed up and a heated exchange came about...one of the beautiful children grabbed me by the hand and whisked me back up the mountain before it got ugly...whew
They kept calling my husband (now EX) White Rhasta..he ate that crap up he is so gullible he thought he had mastered Patois

As a matter of fact I was JUST thinking about that...and why I asked about Trinidad. My dad was in the Navy in the last leg of WWII and was IN Trinidad...he loved it. I have a lovely music jewelry box he got there...hope I still have it somewhere.

He was a Marine Corps D.I. (Drill Instructor) in Korean Conflict.

My parents were Depression Era, so I know the Andrews Sisters well
