I was at my daughter's softball game last night, playing with my niece, who I was babysitting, at the playground next to the field. She was going down the slide with another little girl (about 5 or so) and the other girl kept saying 'ow' because the slide was very bumpy. I said, "My niece isn't feeling any pain because she has diaper padding, maybe that's what you need for this slide!" The little girl gave me a funny look and laughed and the two kept going up an down the slide.
A little while later, her mom came over and the girl pointed at me and said "Mommy, that lady told me I should wear a diaper!" The woman gave me a disturbed look.
I immediately felt the need to explain the entire conversation in context because I really think this woman thought I was a weirdo. The woman did laugh in the end...whew.
