He needs more of a mystery-horror, with comedy releif but I think they need longer more complex story arcs to make it work. He would fit well with Pertwee/Baker era U.N.I.T or the Valliard etc

And they need to give him a new companion. That girl is abrasive and unlikeable.

Great show. Originally on AMC before Netflix picked it up for a final season. Worth it to watch the previous seasons if you haven't.

Just finished watching The Five from Sky TV. Very good. Another good British police series season 1 was Paranoid.

Re: British TV shows

Discovered another good Brit series, Midsomer Murders. Only watched 3 episodes, pretty good so far. It has like 18 seasons, so it's going to be a long watch.

Any one else enjoy the series?

FYI, there's a new British TV streaming service, Brit Box - The biggest streaming collection of British TV… ever.

Sigh, my wife gives me the speaking treatment.

I watched some and enjoyed them, my W watched a lot more, and I have always liked John Nettles.

I couldn't help thinking that after just a few of those murders in that tiny little village hamlet that all the remaining residents would have got the hell out long ago and the streets would be lined with For Sale signs with nobody buying. The entire village should have been wiped out by the second series!!

I've watched it off and on as the 90 minutes gets a little boring when the show can be wrapped up in 60. John Nettles is currently on Poldark. He hasn't been on Midsomer since 2011.

Line Of Duty

Will have a look at Prime Suspect !973. Helen Mirren as Jane Tennison in the original will be hard to beat. It'll be interesting to see how she is portrayed as a young constable.

It's mayhem down in Midsomer I tell you, it's mayhem.

One little girl falls off her horse and is licked to death by a pack of Golden Retriever puppies, two old folks choke to death on scones and clotted cream, the owner of the bookshop dies from a paper cut she received while putting out the latest version of "British West Country Villages in Bloom" and one lady dies ironically when a tile falls from the church roof while she is running a fund raiser for a new church roof. The good news is that got increased donations from the surviving villagers and the church got their new roof, the bad news is that there is only the vicar, the organist and the two detectives left alive in the village.

Anyway I do hope you enjoy Season 2.
