Re: American football 2016 - NFL, NCAA, local HS and others.

I should take pictures of our basement and post them here. We have a 'green and gold' room dedicated to Eskimos, Packers and Ducks. Although we don't have much Ducks stuff up. The walls are painted green and gold even. Then in our bathroom, we have everything required for either a Seahawks theme or a Broncos theme. Shower curtain, towels and facecloths, wall hangings, cups, soap dish etc etc. Right now it's Seahawks - we switched it over from Broncos a couple of months ago.

When I bought a new car in March I contacted the Eskimos and got a whole collection of stickers from them for my back window. They go way back to like the 60's or 70's.

I would love to post a bunch of videos but I always post from work and have to try to fly under the radar.

Go Eskimos.

Go Pack. Dont mind the Packers.

Dont mind the Ducks. Except Sept 17. Then I hope they lose and lose badly. In a Sea of Red.

Set to officiate my first 2016 high school football scrimmage tomorrow evening here in Central Texas~ and likely in triple digit heat!

Can't wait for that first cold front to hit!

No wonder you and Arbitrator are ok for Texans. Aggies are OK.

Its those damn short Whorns you have to stay away from.

Only A&M game that pissed me off was when the horrible Big12 gave us our going away present up the a$$ with no lube job against the Aggies in our last year in the league. GREAT officiating.

AFC south should be interesting this year except for the colts.

Nothing like playing, officiating, or even watching a game when the temp is in triple digits, and the humidity is 50+, in direct sunlight, and/or on artificial turf! Actual temperatures on the turf can exceed 130..., and that doesn't even include the heat index...

I will be watching a scrimmage over here in NE Texas myself. I like me some football, college and pro, but there's still nothing like high school if you want the sport to be pure. Those kids work out in that heat twice a day for 3 to 4 hours at a time, just to get an opportunity to represent their home town. They don't get paid to do it with money, they just WANT to!

So here's the part where I have to sheepishly admit that the DVR is set to record the 'Boys tomorrow for a preseason game against the New and Improved (never to be duplicated!) Rams.

I've been a lifelong fan since Superbowl VIII. My brother was rooting for Pittsburgh. I had no choice. Don't hate me, bros.

Re: American football 2016 - NFL, NCAA, local HS and others.

I'm serious about football. My dad took me to my first pro game when I was 8. He taught me what was going on, bought me a program, and showed me how to understand the basics of the game.

Yep, I watched the FIRST Super Bowl. I've watched every single one since. Most sucked. Some were fantastic.

My late husband could not understand how I could watch 14 hours of football on Sunday; from pre-pre game show, three games, to post-game wrap-up.

Football. It's a way of life for me.

I refuse to make anyone a priority in my life who considers me nothing more than an option.

You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.

Fun facts:

Los Angles/Cleveland Rams the first team to put team emblem on their helmets

Pittsburgh Steelers has their team emblem only on one side (right side)

Been there, done that! Did a mid -September "high-noon" game at Huntsville's Sam Houston State University's Bowers Stadium back in 1988 where the SID told us prior to kickoff that the heat index on the AstroTurf at gametime was going to exceed 135F!

My line judge at the time later told us that during one TV timeout in that game, either he was hallucinating or he swore that he saw Satan stealing off with a cold drink out of an orange Gatorade cooler!

That's the only game in my long football officiating career that I had to shower after that game sitting in a folding chair!
