That has to suck. Why did it take so long. Brady have good lawyers? Maybe they figured they had a better chance last year? I don't get it. It was coming whether he liked it or not.

First team is out already. Landry Jones is in a QB. Let's see how he does. I think it has to be better than last week. He's run the team before. He can do it, if he really wants.

Leveon Bell just fumbled. Have another toke, man. It won't hurt as much.

That whole controversy was blown up out of proportion.

Id have preferred the appellate court agreeing with the lower court that Goodell overstepped his bounds being arbitrator but the fact is the union signed the dammed CBA. Hindsight is 20/20 but it would have been over last year if he took the suspension then.

They will be fine without him. First game is at Arizona and even if he played it would be a tall order. Next three games are home. I expect (hope) no worse than 2-2 when he comes back.

Yeah, it was blown up, but it had to be or everyone would get away with all kinds of stuff. "Give them(anyone really) an inch and they'll take a mile." It's just sad that it happened at all.

I'd think they would be 2 -2 when he comes back. That's not bad.

Steelers 14 - Saints 7

Can't fault the Steelers much, though the Saints rambled right down there in short order. The hit their receiver took was epic. It knocked the ball loose. He had the where with all to keep his wits about him as it popped out and dropped right down to him so he could catch it while lying on his back. What a play he made. Don't know how he saw just one ball coming down.

Steelers 21 - Saints 7 at the half.

Steelers won last night. They looked pretty good. I think the score was Steelers 24 - Saints 14, but I'm not sure. I got bored with the second half and watched an old movie with angels fighting each other over a book or something. The fight scenes were pretty...how do I say this...they weren't believable. They were fun to watch and there was some blood and guts with hearts being ripped out of chests and so forth. You know.

Tony Romo broke a bone in his back. Out 8-10 weeks.

Second straight year he's gonna miss most of the season.

Got my fantasy football draft tonight. 4-5 friends in the same league for 18 years now.

Could be our last season. It used to be a good excuse to get together, drink beer and bust balls, now nobody has time anymore so it's online instead of in-person late on a Sunday night.

Steelers lost to Carolina Thursday. Our defense held them to field goals. Our offense had little effect. I felt sorry our defense.

I couldn't watch the whole thing. I had to work the next day. I don't think I missed much. Carolina is still tough this year. Not sure who can give them a run for their money. Of course, those are the second teams, I think.

Bigger news is Sam Bradford being traded to the Vikings for 1st and 7th (Vikings) pick next draft.

The Eagles may be out a starter for a few weeks with his rib injury. Odd that they would not start Bradford. Probably a great trade for both teams.

I think when they made a first pick for QB in the last draft, this was a signal that Bradford's time was short. They were paying him way too much as it is.

They maybe thinking on a five year plan rather than this year.

Re: American football 2016 - NFL, NCAA, local HS and others.

So all the teams are at their 53 man roster. A couple of notables - Jets, the only team to do so, keep all four QBs, 49ers keep Kaepernick and Broncos cut QB Mark Sanchez who then was picked up by Cowboys at the number two spot. John Elway, VP for the Broncos, speculated they are still looking to change their roster at the QB position. He hinted that they are looking for veteran leadership at that position and already in talks. So, will this be Kaepernick or Geno Smith leading the defending Super Bowl champs?

Re: American football 2016 - NFL, NCAA, local HS and others.

Kaepernick would be the better choice as a player, in my mind. He is a bit too controversial at the moment for Elway. Well, I think, anyway.

If they could pick him up on the cheap due to that, and Kaep decides to take his protests to some less controversial places and dedicate some personal time and money toward his beliefs, he might be the best candidate.

Otherwise, I think I'd go with Geno. He just seems to need some team to believe in him, find him some receivers who he clicks with, and teach him some confidence through his very qualifying abilities staying on a positive note.

Geno is a little younger than Kaep, as well. He might be a longer term prospect worth the time and effort to train him the Broncos way of playing.

My humble, probably mistaken opinion.
