I too like college football, except for some of the matches lacking total parity. I am pretty sure Western Kentucky Hilltoppers does not stand a chance against Bama?

Yes, it's exciting to watch a powerhouse SEC teams against the best of the Big-10, but even some IA conferences are no match for the top five FBS conferences. If every university were allowed to only grant the same number of athletic scholarships, but then granted unlimited academic scholarships for each team, this might change things.

Woooosh!!

That was the sound of your comments going over my head.

A subjective tackling box? Do you think the quarterback should not be as protected as he is within that box? If he has to hold onto the ball, they'll have to start training linemen to throw passes. Don't you think?

Who said QBs? I didn't. I guess it did go over your head. They have created implied tackle boxes and other rules around specific positions to generate MORE OFFENSE. The league said, about a decade ago, they wanted higher offensive production. It's why I am no longer impressed by 5 to 6,000 yard seasons. Instead, it created a harder job for the refs and introduced more subjectivity into the game. I'm not talking the hits from yesteryear either.

Tomorrow, the son my team plays on kicks off their season. They are now trying my son at corner back as well as all the other spots he plays on offense.

Yep, it sure did go over my head. I couldn't find anything on that. It must be subtly implied.

So I was pretty impressed with Siemian or however you spell it. He was very obviously very new (!!!) but he looked pretty settled in. I think after a few more games he'll look even better.

Poor cam baby got his head bonked once or twice too often. Does the nfl not call that a penalty??? In the CFL you'd have been flagged for SURE for that kind of BS.

Last night's officiating SUCKED. There was blatant holding that was not called and I think the final hit Cam took should have been called as a personal foul for unnecessary roughness. JMO.

Penn State Nittany Lions @ Pittsburgh Panthers today.

Penn State has a little better win percentage in this old rivalry. This game hasn't been seen in quite some time. It used to be a game of Penn State's defense against Pitt's offense. I don't know what it is today.

This is a big game in my area.

Jets look good...way better than I expected. That's a good thing.

Green Bay seems a little off today.

Re: American football 2016 - NFL, NCAA, local HS and others.

I generally get San Diego if the Cards are on a bye or playing at a different time. The early games I got today were Miami at Seattle and NY Giants at Dallas. Both really good games. I thought Miami had it won until those last 30 seconds. Actually, there were a lot of close games today and several went OT. This early in the season, I'm only good for about 8 hours of viewing. When the weather eventually cools down, I'll go back to my usual 12 hours. Seriously. I f^cking love it!

Green Bay was off. For all the complaining about preseason games a team does need to play together for a game or two to develop a little chemistry. They kept the important starters out of most of the preseason. They played most of the game like a preseason game. They got lucky they didn't lose today.

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday

Early? It is rare for the Giants to not snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, TW helped a wee bit today. In any case, my season is complete, the Giants had/will have a good season.

Sigh, my wife gives me the speaking treatment.

All in all, a great day in the National! Football! League!

Jets, Bills, Dolphins all lose. No Brady, no Gronk, half the line was rookies against a tough defense in the desert? No problem.

Go Pats!!
