Default Cooking Forums?

Anyone got a good cooking forum they like? I'm just looking for a place with general tips, advice, techniques, recipes, ect... Nothing too professional or where the members have something to prove.

I figured there had to be some people here who like to cook for a hobby and we all obviously like the forum format for info so....

Thx.

Sigma,

While not "forums," I do often visit these sites:

MarthaStewart.com, The Cooking Channel, Allrecipes.com, FoodNetwork.com, and I subscribe to Kraft foods (they send me recipes).

I'm actually in the works of starting my own food blog (I have a mini-one right now) so I can post some recipes (old and new). Cooking is a hobby of mine and I enjoy learning new things as expanding on what I know.

If anyone has any good forums... spill 'em!

Oh when I googled these forums came up:

Food and drink forum - FoodBanter.com
Forums at Epicurious.com
Fork & Bottle: Best Food Forums and Best Wine Forums

This is where I go if I need a Recipe - I love the fact they have real reviews from real people for each dish - this can be very helpful getting a few extra ideas even.

Allrecipes.com - recipes, menus, meal ideas, food, and cooking tips.

Not a forum - but as a completely novice cook I have visited this site for inspiration and easy instruction:

Broke Ass Gourmet

teehee ...it's a neat idea.

This was the first recipe I cooked from there: BrokeAss Gourmet – Perfect Stir Fry Over Toasted Coconut Rice

Like I said, I'm a novice and this was great for me. Although hubs cooks meat and chicken which I eat, I don't cook meat myself so we switch up between meat dishes and vegetarian. Hubs is thankfully man enough to eat tofu. I replaced the chicken in this dish with tofu and the meal tasted great. I particularly like the sauce. Oh and I added bok choy. Coconut milk with the rice gave it a nice flavor too.

Thanks for the replies. I'm a regular on allrecipes, epicurious and food network. I'm also on eggheadforum.com, that one is kind of specific to cooking on a ceramic grill/smoker, but it is an actual forum and has some knowledgeable and very nice people on it.

JB - post up your blog when you get it cranked up. Always like to see what others are cooking and try new things.

Yeah, I stumbled upon this site the day before Thanksgiving when I was out of stuff to make a pumpkin pie. They have this awesome search pantry where you can enter the ingredient you are out of and a list of things to use to substitute opens. There is a forum and a blog and right now they even have a give-away going on. I joined and am now a member there.

The site is Once Upon a Plate. Would be nice to see familiar faces there!

I often visit a forum called lifeslounge.com There is a down-to-earth cooking forum where the members share recipes and pictures of their dishes.
You have to at least register, but it's free. You get tons of support and there this recipe for "troll loaf" that is so good, It's become a favorite with all the members.
It's under the forum "food". I think you'll llike it.
