Which brand is that? Don't worry, I'll make sure the company send you a royalty check for promoting their product.

I've heard that most people can't stay motivated if they work out at home as opposed to at a gym. For me it's just the opposite. I couldn't stick with a gym in the past, but working out at home is so much more convenient for me that I have no real excuse to miss it. I am a small woman and don't take up much room. I actually workout on a beach towel in our bedroom. haha My husband couldn't do it, as he'd be bumping into things, but it's just the right amount of space for little old me.

My grandmother did exercises in her bed into her 90's. Not the same kind of exercises I do, as that would not work, but for an old woman she did what worked for her. And she was proud of herself for doing her exercises.
I actually have a home gym but I hardly use it. I lift at 5am and end up making too much noise when everyone is asleep. Plus, the gym I got to is a 2 minute drive away, so it is much easier to go there and get my mind off of home stuff. My W has been using the home gym a lot, and I still use it on days where I go into work at 4:30am so I need to lift after work.

Fortunately my office has a small gym and nice locker rooms, so I just shower there.

As far as food, I drink a ton of Fairlife milk. It has nearly twice as much protein, much fewer carbs, and much less sugar vs. normal milk. Only downside is it costs more, but I love milk

Also, my W uses a Peloton spin cycle which comes with a large monitor attached. She can do all the live classes and also the on demand classes. My butt is too big for a spin bike, so I avoid

In related news, there's an article out there that says cycling can desensitize a woman's vj.

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

My husband gets up before me and is gone when I start my exercising. I wish my exercising would wake the kids up!

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

In the last year I have gone from really hating the gym to loving it, difference is that I changed from a basic gym to one that has a lot more to offer. Costs more but it is so worth it.

Most weeks I go 6 times: 1 x PT day, 3 x personal program days, 2 x fat burner 1 hour cycle days.
Am looking at upping to 2 x PT sessions a week till Christmas.

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

One observation, about 3 weeks ago I started experiencing shoulder discomfort which was odd considering I have rarely had this issue, even with t he high amount of benching I do. It got to the point where I had to stop benching these past few weeks. I was reading around and come across an article that discussed the rise in shoulder injuries due to certain types of exercises being done more frequently. One of them was battling ropes, which as it turns out I had been doing a lot of over the past few months as part of tabata. I am dropping these for now, so we will see if that was t he main cause.

I did get some light bench work in today, just high rep closed grip board presses along with some accessory work.

My weight has tanked over the past 1-2 months as well, so I need to more closely monitor as it looks like I am underestimating how many calories I am burning through on a daily basis.

I have really tried to like greek yogurt but I just can't!

Exercising I actually enjoy. I always feel better afterwards physically as well as mentally. I sleep better usually on the days that I do workout too! That's a bonus. My problem is the overeating! Socializing always surrounds food & drinks.

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

What motivates me is vanity and the ability to eat about 3000 to 4000 calories a day. I work out daily so I can eat things like cookies, french fries, although in moderation. Plus, I like being attractive, it makes me feel good.

I am such a tree hugger because it gives me wood!

I have always said I exercise so I can eat. Why wouldn't I want to enjoy food...

Funny enough, not sure what happened but yesterday I didn't eat enough during the day while at work, so decided I needed to make it up at dinner with Pizza and Ice Cream ... woke up 1lbs lighter which pisses me of, I could have eaten a lot more pizza/ice cream last night
