Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

Yesterday, I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill. And, I also did leg presses, the leg extension thingamagig, and the hip abduction thingamagig.

Today, I had a long meeting that occupied my normal workout time so I actually got up 1/2 hour earlier and did a Jillian workout. My H even joined me. Hey, I'm so not a morning person so that was quite an accomplishment for me! I have after work plans so I wanted to do something.

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

Dropped M'Lady off at therapy this evening, and got in a quick 45 minute elliptical before picking her up again.

Do you ever do it backwards? Good for the booty.

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

Side note on the whole body image thing. I have a hard time finding clothes (especially work/dress) that fit me right. I end up getting pants that fit a little too baggie (so I have room for my tush) or shirts that have a ton of "shirt fat". At times I look at myself in the mirror and look like a fat piece o poop. Really not worth spending the money to get tailored clothes, but amazing how something as simple as your clothes can make a big difference with your body image.

You may not want to buy tailored clothes, but most dry cleaners have a seamstress on staff who will alter your clothing. It's a lot cheaper than having tailor made clothing. I alter my clothing sometimes. I have a large booty as well, so there is often a gap in the back of my pants. My sister showed me how to sew darts that make my pants fit perfectly.

I agree with Cynthia.

Ellis, spending $5-10 to have a shirt taken in makes all the difference in how it looks.

Re: Exercise Motivation Thread

Do 'late night, two person' workouts count?

If so, you can add that to my list for yesterday...

I do see people doing that, not done it myself. M'Lady seems to think my booty is just fine though!

I had to have all my suits adjusted to fit. Tapered in for the jackets and waist reduced, as the off the shelf suits don't factor in my measurements. Barrel chested with (now) a 32" waist.

I also get the 'shirt fat' issue, even with the 'slimline' (ie tapered) work/dress shirts i've taken to buying. Tight around the chest, but voluminous around the midriff. But they do fit a lot better than the regular (non slimline) 16.5" necked shirts, which hang like a tent. I put on an older 'casual' shirt from the closet the other day, and could have had friends over to stay inside the leftover room. I realised I need to get several of these older shirts tailored! M'Lady has offered to take in my shirts. Something she can do while she's off work.

Jeans are a PITA for me. I have to buy 'relaxed' fit, as regular one's fit great around the waist, but come up really tight around my thighs, which are solid. Fortunately this means I'll never be a hipster, as skinny jeans are never ever going to fit!
