Re: The Dinner Thread

A play on fish and chips. Pan fried haddock over garlic buttermilk mashed potatoes, peas and a lemony tartar sauce.

Sigh, my wife gives me the speaking treatment.

Sage and prosciutto wrapped chicken. Side of spinach and tomatoes with garlic.

Tacos again. I love this pic, and it's not about the actual food. (She cleared it.)

@CharlieParker

What kind of sauce do you put on your tacos?

@heartsbeating, I did it from memory so I'm sorry I don't have a specific recipe. I use carrots, onions, celery, corn, mushrooms, worcestershire sauce, bit of veg stock, and veggie meat substitute for the filling. I also use a bay leaf and some fresh thyme. The protein resembles ground hamburger. You can find it in the fridge in a sausage-style casing or in the freezer section.

I've also done a brown lentil version but it's been a while. I may have to try it again!

I use mashed red potatoes as I love the taste and think they need less butter.

I'd say, if you have a favorite Shepherd's Pie recipe, just substitute the meat for veg protein and it should come out well!

Usually sriracha sour cream but yesterday it was Cholula chipotle sour cream.

Ground chicken? I've heard of chicken skin pizza and tacos but not ground chicken.

Re: The Dinner Thread

yep mix together with a little bit of mozzarella, parmesan and italian seasoning. Bake on pizza stone for a while. Flip over if you can and bake a little more. Put ingredients on and bake again to cook them.

Re: The Dinner Thread

Last night, I made Carribean jerk boneless pork loin chops with mango salsa, and some cheesy garlic mashed taters on the side.

I liked it, but my family was not impressed.
