I'm on the East Coast in the South (hence the name "Southern Wife"), but I LOVE that I'm only 2 hours from the beach and 3 hours from the mountains. I also love that we experience all 4 seasons here - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.
Mountains, ocean, desert...all within 2 hours or less
We moved out of Los Angeles into a suburb when we bought our house and it's very quaint and nice. Our new area has all 4 seasons too. The trees are beautiful right now!
I love that it doesn't snow. Woot!!! I don't do snow.

I like the snow. It's makes everything very elegant, quiet, and peaceful outside.
I also LOVE driving the snow (not ice). Years ago, when I had my Jeep, there was about 6", or so, of snow. We put 6-packs of beer on top of the Jeep and rode around and went sledding. Good times!!!
Fall is beautiful here in Indiana. Great weather - beautiful leaves on our Fall trees.
I also like living in a mid-sized city where I'm only 10 minutes away from work - crime isn't a huge problem - public schools are decent - and there's still plenty to do.
I'm in Montana, it's beautiful here, mountains, rivers, lots of green space. Not too many people, clean air, traffic isn't too bad even here in the "big city". Housing prices are reasonable, not much crime, and the people are still pretty friendly.
I HATE where I live but we own a mobile home, its quit, snowy, and a hour from the city. I MISS the city and my family...back home buut my husband has a job here too
I like... I like... hmmm. WTF do I like about this place, it flat, no trees for 200 miles, its -35C in winter +35C (and humid) in summer. I guess there is the river, which is nice except a breeding ground for mosquitoes. The nearest major city is 5 hours away, but there are hundreds of towns with under 1000 people all within two hour drive (though each one is exactly the same and with no reason to go to except for your grandparents funeral). We do have the CFL's most talked about team, though they are in the other small city over 2 hours drive from here. There are a lot, I mean a LOT of really pretty girls here, except they are mostly university students and too young for this old guy. Tons of good paying jobs though, if you are in the trades you can easily make six figures, but you pay a lot for taxes. Yeah we have free healthcare but if something is wrong with you its a 18month waiting list to get it fixed (or you die first). Aurora borealis is nice to see sometimes. Occasionally a big act will come through town, but the shows are always a tuesday or wednesday night since they save the weekends for the big cities. The people are pretty crazy here, and if you are willing to get crazy you can definitely make some pretty cool friends, you have to have a very crude sense of humor to fit in, and slacks just are not appropriate for evening wear (the formal clothes are for the office only) The poshest night clubs (with their dress codes) go out of business pretty fast here, we are not gullible you can't put Pilsner in a fancy cup and charge us $7 a glass... can anyone guess what city I'm in?

I love that I am able to own a flock of chickens! I love fresh eggs! We own 4 acres of mostly wooded land. I'm pretty happy where we are. I would live to own 20+ acres with zero neighbors. That is my dream. Posted via Mobile Device
I live on a large farm with my family. There's plenty to do, its very quiet, and someone is always around to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. The summers are very hot and winters sometimes get surprisingly cold. Spring and fall seasons are very short. While our place is in a rural area, several large cities are only and hour away. It's a nice balance of everything here.
