Re: Where is the worst place you have ever slept?

On a curb in front of a supermarket along with a bunch of friends. It was after a long night of partying and not being able to get a bus or a taxi to get us to our homes. Of course we were starving after all that booze and dancing. We figured best to crash in front of the supermarket and go crazy as soon as it opened at 6am. Best fresh baguette sandwiches I've ever had!

Cool Re: Where is the worst place you have ever slept?

In college, cramped up in the back seat of my old Ford Fairlane 500!

Not nearly as bad as one of my college frat brothers though! He came in drunker than Cootie Brown one Saturday night and fell fast asleep on one of the other fraters old wore out mattress that was laying on the bedroom floor.

When he awoke on Sunday morning, he came sauntering downstairs looking for breakfast wearing only his tighty-whities. When he past us up, he evoked vociferous laughter when we saw what appeared to be two dangling, "dried on," used condoms which was just inauspiciously hanging off of his back, without him having the first damned clue!

Re: Where is the worst place you have ever slept?

The worst place was the first time staying overnight with my wife when we first met, on her rock-hard futon in an unheated attic room on a bitter-cold, snowy northeastern January night. She was hot, and so was the sex. But we were interrupted when she was paged to deliver a baby at 1am. But, we heated things up again when she got back. As bad as the location was, the company made for a delightful memory.

Now that's nasty! Think that I would have died!

Had another fully-clothed, passed-out frat brother who fell asleep in an empty frat house bathtub! Being the smarta$$es we were, we put the stopper in the drain and turned the warm water on and figured he'd be warm till the water turned cold!

He never woke up from feeling the water running, but promptly pi$$ed his pants upon feeling the waters warmth!

Re: Where is the worst place you have ever slept?

On top of an old (dried) lava flow in the big island of hawaii.
The only thing between me and the lava flow was a 1/2" thick dense foam pad.

that wasn't the worst part. We were woken up in the middle of the night by huge rats
trying to chew into our back packs to get at the dried food inside. They were everwhere
and not particularly intimidated by us.

On a bunk bed, in a Hotel in London, the sheets seemed clean but there was blood on the toilet of the shared bathroom, plus their wasn't much carpet and the floorboards were loose.
I only slept because I was drunk.
It was voted one of the worst hotels in England.

Re: Where is the worst place you have ever slept?

I've slept on a plane, I've slept in a car, I've slept in frozen huts. I've slept in a tent in the winter. I've slept double in a single bed. I've slept in a hammock in sub 40 deg f. (4.5 deg C). That was actually a pretty cool night when the moon rose at 3 AM and the birds started to sing. I've slept under the stars on a ground cloth, many times. I'd be hard put to choose which was the worst. My Brother once spent a night in an unexpected spring snowstorm with 6 scouts (1 claustrophobic) in a 2 man pup tent. I don't think I can top that one.

Funny story. I was in Amsterdam after returning from the Rhine River with no reservation. The only hotel I could get was a 3rd story room with a shared bathroom. The next morning I was taking a shower and a young lady walked in (I thought I locked the door) and said excuse me (in Dutch) and sat down to pee. There was a shower curtain so nothing was visible. European modesty escapes me sometimes.

Blood on the toilet? Oh hell no.
