This is probably a silly question, but would a "Big Time Rush" concert be a suitable environment for a 10 year old? My son is really wanting to see them. They look clean cut, so I am just wondering if, aside from the screaming, the atmosphere would be ok. I don't want to take my son to a show where everyone is stripping, throwing beer cans, and shouting foul language.
I've been to a lot of shows in my time and I know the environments can be different, and I'm just not familiar with this band.
hi--
long time no see...i would not let my 10 year old have anything to do with anything on nick, nickteen, and most of nicktoon.
those shows are for 16 and up, in my eyes, victoria jackson just had a song called my best friends brother..it wasnt BAD...but...it was on the line.
big time rush does look ok and kid safe....but i watch a lot of tv at night when nick runs the "videos" and i can disect them. my youngest kids are 8..and i still try to talk them in into liking the wiggles...its not for babies...[app it is].
i guess my advice, and please take it with a grain of salt, would be to watch nicktoon, and nickteen after midnight to get a good view of their young stars.
I'm not familiar with that band, but this reminded me of when I took my oldest to a Dave Matthews concert when she was 10.... It was innocent, but right in front of us they were passing around a joint and the next day, a couple of us adults were talking about the cost of cigarettes going up, and she piped up and said "they must be really expensive, I saw a bunch of people sharing one last night"... Hahaha

They have a show on Nick for the preteen crowd. The 9 -12 yr olds are their core audience.
Oh, so not like a rock band concert thing. Got it, thanks!
Yeah, they're yet another disposable, prefab, tween-targeted band, cranking out forgettable, corporate-created ear cotton candy.
I'd be less concerned about the atmosphere he'd be exposed to than the bad music. That said, I recall tv and/or radio promotions with the prize (if you can call I that) being them performing at the winner's elementary or middle school. So, probably age appropriate, though probably annoying as all get-out for the adults eacortig their kids. Posted via Mobile Device
@ Grayson - Too funny! I picture one of those Live in Concert Barney videos, but I know that's not quite the age group the OP is talking about. LOL Posted via Mobile Device

I don't know about the 10 year old, but whether or not YOU will want to sit through that concert is another thing altogether...
I took my oldest to a Hillary Duff concert once... It was brutal to even stay in the venue! Thank goodness they sold beer there. When she came out on stage it was the highest squeal from a bunch of girls I think I've ever heard. At least my daughter enjoyed it
Thankfully, I was spared the "Bubble Gum Bands" with my daughter. Thankfully she has great taste when she was younger. First concert I took her to was Bullet for my Valentine/All that Remains. She only wanted a ride there with her boyfriend but I told her that I would be going too. They disappeared and I watched the show. Awesome show.
Since then I've gone to the Warp Tour with her, as well as to se A Day to Remember and she's jealous because I went to see Papa Roach without her.
Maybe I can get my son to go see Korn with me when they start touring for their new album. He seems to like that kind of music.
