There is a venue maybe 20 minutes from my house that now seems to be drawing in bigger artists. Seats about 400 people or so. Was great catching a few artists there last year, so I am hopeful they will continue drawing some more well known artists.

I think I saw John Mayer Trio at Beacon and several artists at Radio City.

Re: Concerts

Great thread, Personal! And I approve of your concert going choices!

I'm going to see Lisa Hannigan in a small venue in San Francisco in February, then in April Yo-Yo Ma in a trio performing the works of Bach under the stars in an outdoor amphitheatre in Berkeley, and then, be still my beating heart... Nick Cave in June in the same small starry nighttime venue in Berkeley!

Something to look forward to, something to hold on to and something to make me hope and believe.

God bless the music makers!

So happy you're seeing Nick Cave! Again?

First time!!! And long overdue. I was supposed to see him in the early aughts at the Palace of Fine Arts in SF but got sick and my partner also bailed on me so I ended up not going. Should've dragged my carcass there solo. Still kicking myself over that.

OMG ... If that isn't heaven on earth, I don't know what is!!!

I refuse to make anyone a priority in my life who considers me nothing more than an option.

You can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.

That was an interesting thread.I'm all over the place with music but the boss would be my main man.I've seen him at least fifty times all over the world.I go to Ireland regularly and every year they have what's called a fleadh. It is basically a traditional music festival except the bands just appear on the street and go for it.I was lucky enough to get two tickets to the Led Zeppelin reunion gig in London in 2007 and it was brilliant.I saw Leonard Cohen Ireland a few years ago, also the police,AC/DC,Metallica,Van Helen,Ozzie,Ritchie Blackmore to name just a few.

Re: Concerts

In December I saw Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy on their Celtic Christmas tour. Two of best fiddlers in the world, their band was fantastic, and they were touring with their little children who fiddled and step-danced for a few songs.

Just a great night of toe-tapping music.
