Nick Cave in June in the same small starry nighttime venue in Berkeley!

Something to look forward to, something to hold on to and something to make me hope and believe.

Thanks, you certainly have some wonderful things to look forward to. It's been a while for me but Nick Cave is a standout for me in terms of great concert experiences.

Anyway PJ Harvey was really WOW, great sound, great performance in fact the songs from The Hope Six Demolition Project sounded a whole lot better than they did on her album. She's right up there with the best I've ever seen and I've seen a number of top performers.

Amanda Palmer was a bit disappointing (not sorry we went though), nice songs when she took the time to actually play some, otherwise it was all a bit dull. It almost felt like we were seeing some guy called Brendan, with Amanda Palmer occasionally playing the support act.

Re: Concerts

Saw Red Hot Chili Peppers on Friday.
Have always liked them well enough, but not a mega fan. Wife won tickets from a radio give away.
That being said, AWESOME show. Talented musicians that sound GREAT live. Cool light set up. And great song selection.

Re: Concerts

Not a concert but... Day after Regina Spektor we are going to Ringling Bros before they go out of the circus business.

Mrs P has never been to a circus (not counting me).

Sigh, my wife gives me the speaking treatment.

That sounds wonderful! She's going to be coming my way soon, I think; don't know if there are tickets left but may have to pay a scalper their exorbitant fees!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing Nick Cave and I just learned Cat Power will be opening for him! Bonus wonderful amazingness! Can't wait!

Re: Concerts

I'm not really a fan of loud concerts, but I've been to my share. My first ever concert was NKOTB... LOL. Must have been 90 or 91.

I saw Simple Minds in concert about 8 years ago. That was great, even though they were a bit before my time, I always enjoyed their music.

Kings of Leon wasn't as great live as I'd hoped. Not terrible, maybe the program was off... Everything sounded the same.

Saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2 years ago with Odo. Talk about a display.

Oh and @FeministInPink, definitely see Wicked. I went over the summer and really enjoyed it.

Cool Re: Concerts

Speaking of concerts, has anyone heard the official performer lineup for this year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at NRG Stadium?

Think that I'll settle for either Willie Nelson or Alan Jackson!

Think they must be a little too old for that now. Thankfully.
