Re: What is the most inappropriate time you have started laughing?

Funerals sometimes lead to comedy. At my father's funeral, there was background music from his era and favorite performers. Somehow, a very twangy country song got included, something like "Give me a cowboy for a boyfriend," very distinct from the rest of the selections. I had to laugh - and so did everyone else. My Dad would have laughed at that one for sure - he had a great sense of humor. Soon after, his casket was hauled off to the grave site behind a golf cart - another fitting touch.

I'm very jealous. I have and hour commute and have to be here by 8am. That gets difficult after a awhile

Yes, it's difficult, but I assumed it got easier as you got used to it. Earlier in life, I've had jobs in which I've needed to be there by 8, but my commutes were all under 25 minutes. My best job was teaching at a university in China. First class was at 10 am and three buffet-style meals per day at the very large university cafeteria.

I seem to remember from another thread you're (or were?) a s/w developer who made it epic. Still writing code? Just curious

Re: What is the most inappropriate time you have started laughing?

Sometimes I would start laughing when one of the kids got hurt by accident. I knew it wasn't funny but couldn't help it and the child who got hurt would get upset at me but it distracted them from the pain.

When I was in boot camp.

When the drill sergeants would bellow, scream and terrorize, I would laugh in their face.

This infuriated them. Made them look impotent. I did a lot of push ups, running with my rifle over my head and doing, boot slapping squats.

I also spent a lot of my time on K.P., peeling potatoes. The joker was turned over to "Cookie". He liked me.

I was peeling potatoes and drinking coffee and eating in the warm kitchen while the others were outside in sub zero weather marching through muddy fields like idiots, stabbing scare crows with their bayonets!

I wanted to smash the D.S's in the face. Instead, I laughed at them.
