This is an American web site. We just have many international friends that visit. And it's great, I love the different perspectives and diversity they bring.

Rowan, a visit to Savannah has been on my bucket list since I was in college. I finally was able to spend a week there this past Thanksgiving, and I loved it! I could absolutely see myself living there. The one thing I didn't get to experience was the Low Country, which I did want to see, so I will have to plan another trip sometime in the future.

It used to be an American site, but Chris H. sold it to Verticalscope, which is based in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Re: Where Are We From?

Born and raised in the middle of the U.S. Nebraska.

Flyover or drive through country for most. But a nice place to live with nice people and has some areas that are subtly very beautiful.( Sandhills being one)

Might consider becoming a snowbird when wife and I are retired if possible. Love it here but hate the damn cold. Feels like -2F this morning with the wind chill. But forecasted high of 64F on friday. Nothing like a 40 degree swing in two days.

Oh, I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Where Are We From?

I was born and raised in rural Iowa (1/2 mile west of Frank and Velma's place for those of you who might be from Iowa too), lived in the Bay Area for a long time, and now in serene Minneapolis-St Paul where the ice lovingly cradles you as it rips the last heat from your body as you lay unconscious after falling on your ass.

I'm so glad you enjoyed Savannah! It's really a lovely city. Charleston is even better - but don't tell my Mama I said that.

Re: Where Are We From?

Born and lived in New York most of my life (aside from a few years elsewhere when I was a child). Thoroughly enjoying the blizzard right now, but hey, nothing better then being stuck at work all day b/c you can't get home lol.

Hey now, be nice! Minneapolis-St.Paul is a great place to live/visit, in the summer time, all 3 months of it.

Re: Where Are We From?

I was born and raised in the central US, then spent my 20's and 1/2 of my 30's in China and Japan. In recent years, I live about three months per year in China. As a white, native speaker of English, sometimes people are perplexed when I'm not familiar with some pop culture references from those years.
